eBay scared Now!

I read this, thought I would share this with you all.

eBay not bullish about business for the coming year

koalawash 03-03-2008 09:57 PM

LOL they spend all their resources suspending everyone and their grandmother, and forcing everyone to walk on eggshells just to sell a few items, and then they turn around and wonder why existing users won't list as many items..? These guys are some real pieces of work, all right.

This comment at the bottom summed it up best:

Company with a death wish I think.

Good it's time they get off of their high horses, they have gotten rid of alot of scammers, but they have alienated thousands of sellers who would draw even more business to their site. Hopefully this will motivate a huge company to invest in an alternate site, or create a new one.

This little paragraph really shows how screwed up eBay is right now, if it ain't broke...don't fix it!!

The auction company also acknowledged that recent changes to its fee structure and feedback policy, such as eBay's decision not to allow sellers to leave negative feedback for buyers, could have a detrimental effect on its business.

"If these changes cause sellers to move their business away from our sites or otherwise fail to improve gross merchandise volume or the number of successful listings, our operating results and profitability will be harmed," the report stated.

Not quite

;) I do not think they are scared as such. I do think that they are 'more' aware
that they are not as omnipotent as they were.

The world: If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
eBay: Its broke, let's break it even more!

koalawash 03-04-2008 01:00 AM

eBay started out more like: this is great! let's make it suck! :D

ytl 03-04-2008 07:36 AM

wow, kind of puts it into perspective. I feel for them a bit actually, not as much as I feel for me, but I can see their problem, large companies are sueing, and they're scurrying to avoid, or fix it after being sued, thus we have the VERO problem.

ivegotinfo 03-04-2008 10:01 AM

with these insane crackdowns on all brand name items, ebay is going to go down no matter what. im going to guess that more than 90% of all brand name items on ebay are ⊗⊗⊗⊗ -- if they can make fakce sisco routers and ⊗⊗⊗⊗ gillette shaving blades..(which i found out recently) i don't see what they can't ⊗⊗⊗⊗..and why anyone would bother going through the hard approval process by the big companies to sell their stuff when they can just load up from china and make 2000% profit

tvaughan08 03-04-2008 11:48 AM

eBay are idiots they have yet to realize the only reason they make money is because of ⊗⊗⊗⊗. replica's, countierfiets, whatever you wish to call them, that's there bread and butter. The problem came in when they started to crack down on countierfiets the samething that makes them money, I mean what sense does that make, I remember when eBay use to let so many ⊗⊗⊗⊗ sell online after making so much money getting sued for a couple of million wasn't a problem, the would settle it in court and back to business.

But after the fifth or six lawsuit a pattern emerged with Ebay. That is why the company falls under violations of the Federal R.I.C.O. law suits, something I am following closely. We are talking not only settlements, but possible bribery as well. Ebay has to answer for many things they do wrong but they are headed for the big court in the end. They created their own monster and now are unable to kill it off. Greed corrupts greed.

DAMN YOU, EBAY!!!!!!

Plus, these pending Federal lawsuits against ebay are the type of cases Special Prosecutors love to try in court.

Lisa B 03-04-2008 12:20 PM

Everytime I hear they're getting slapped with a lawsuit I just smile because they so deserve it.

It may take time but eBay will get knocked off their throne and i hope I'm still arround to see it. I wonder why Bill Gates start up an onlne auction site, sheesh, he does just about everything else.

They made it very clear they side with the Buyer and screw the honest seller. It makes me ill how they assume all of us sellers are evil, bad, corrupt and out to get those poor little innocent buyers.

Whatever

tvaughan08 03-04-2008 12:22 PM

Dutch, your right 100% right...what people don't know is that the person who runs the T.S department is a ex FBI agent from Virginia. Now lets think about this if I wanted to break the law wouldn't it be better to have the law on my side.

Lisa B 03-04-2008 04:12 PM

Dark times ahead for FeeBay, especially if (ahem, when) Tiffany & Co. and other wins their lawsuits

With that said, there will be further restrictions next year and every year after that on sellers.

GreenBean 03-04-2008 06:21 PM

:( ebay says it is evolving but I say it is revolting and bad.

anotherguy 03-05-2008 12:58 PM

lol :D hehe

eBay makes paypal link, makes paypal limit accounts like crazy, paypal always siding with buyers, paypal demanding personal information, and other bad paypal stuff. Then ebay wonders why people avoid paypal.

Lisa B 03-06-2008 01:48 PM

What pisses me off is GayPal isn't even a fricking bank!
eBay charges the Seller for listings, eBay takes a cut after the sale closes, lastly GayPal takes their cut.

FeeBay is triple dipping I tell you.

They are so greedy!
