MC010 Keep trying!

Just to let whoever is reading this know, if you get MC010, continuously call and ask as many questions as you can or just keep calling as if you don't know what is going on. You can try different ways.

This might not work the first few times, but if you give it many tries it might work.

PM me if you want the full details.

I got the MC010, called, they told me to fax my DL and a bill with my address. I think it's too late for me to use your method. I don't know how they go about verifying people but they asked two questions that I answered correctly but guess got wrong according to them.

PM'ed you.

Success rate for going through them for me is 50/50. Tried calling second time for one account - they told me that I need to send fax with ID etc., without asking questions for the second time. :\

Why pm? Leave the details in the open...

Yes, sometimes I call and they ask for DL and bill utilities before they even try to ask me any questions. It seems like eBay is trying to crack down on stealth accounts by putting mc010 limitations on a lot of new accounts. I remember when I first stated using eBay in 2009 it was easy to setup accounts and I didn't face much of any mc010. Now before you can even open an seller account, eBay has this name, address, and telephone verification that it uses against the public records. And I feel that if you don't pass the public record verification test, then that raises more flags with eBay, which then leads to mc010. When I open my new accounts sometimes I get the mc010 and sometimes I don't

newtools 05-24-2011 12:02 PM

mc115 seems to be similar. an immed blocked acct pending DL , and utility Bill. Not even a sellers acct.

Shikimaru17 05-24-2011 01:34 PM

Sorry I'm worried ebay is checking on this forum so I don't want to reveal.

But if you do try to verify and they say you can only send in ID and stuff and you have already done the question thing earlier, there's a possibility you can still get through. Just keep asking until you get a person who sees your problem differently. Key words "error" when talking to them.

Can someone refresh my memory on what a MC010 suspension is? Some good info here. I would like to be prepared just in case i get one.

Nephilim 05-24-2011 02:30 PM

Ya, I seem to be getting hit with MC010. Even you send in the DL and bill, do so. I have got one of my accounts back up that was suspended about a year ago. Now I don't have any selling limits on it! :D

Shikimaru17 05-24-2011 08:20 PM

If you don't have access to a bill you might still be able to do it. You can wait until you get a customer service rep that'll lift it for you if you present it right.

Guys, when you list your first item make sure it's not a VERO item. Make it a regular household item like a shirt or something that is not a brand name. I believe this is what triggers an MC010 - listing a high-risk item as your first sale.

Shikimaru17 - How fast are you listing an item after opening the account? And what type of item? This is a main factor here.

jbluntz 05-24-2011 10:47 PM

OG is correct I always browse around for a few minutes or so then list a cheap non vero item and haven't had mc010 in a long time after the item sells I list whatever I want after that.

how to list cheap non vero item, if I don't have it? what, if someone bids on it?
I always sell new non vero items at price ~100 USD.
Last time I got hit by MC010 on all 4 new accounts. Items are different on all accounts, I use different listing pattern for all accounts. all used with VPS from different providers (different IP, states etc), nothing to link them.

unkown5454 05-25-2011 02:31 AM

^^^ $100 items are pretty serious for a new seller unless you have legit invoices there my friend.

jbluntz 05-25-2011 02:42 AM

I usually start with something cheap like $2-$3 you can pick up anything at your local store for a few bucks eg. hair jell, cheap dvd movie, box of gum and then after that sells move on to something around $50 and work your way up from there. Also getting 20 buyer feedback can work as well, never had mc010 on accounts with 20 fb.

ShadyOne 05-25-2011 06:40 PM

My approach is the same as jbluntz and unknown5454. I have also not had an mc010etc with this approach

Shikimaru17 05-25-2011 06:46 PM

All I want to say is that if you have MC010 and you already did the questions but you need to send in ID or something, that you still have a chance. Just keep trying, recalling with different approaches, you might have a chance.

GrannyT 05-26-2011 04:16 AM

I would have thought, in view of what we are reading lately on the forums, that what jbluntz and ShadyOne are saying is a no brainer. You cannot expect to just go on the auction site and start listing items at a value that MIGHT indicate fraud without them taking a look at you.

Stealth is about staying under the radar. When I first list I am a dotty old housewife clearing bits and pieces from my sewing box or wardrobe - not Nike trainers or expensive electronics - think outside the box and you should be OK - think how you look to anyone who is looking at your listings

Well I am an impatient guy but because I do indeed have some selling to do before school starts so I can look "fresh", two out of three of my accounts got hit. But I abandoned two of them, one of my accounts was two months old and I'm going high risk but made hundreds already.

Gman91189 05-29-2011 10:52 PM

lol i dont even know what a MC010 is.. i take the same approach.. start SMALL
sell Kitchen utensils a comb something simple, search random inquiries. "help", "how to sell", "ebay fees" etc.. like your first did on ur FIRST account after all your "NEW" in their eyes
slowly but surely sell higher priced items.. $20, $40, $70, $100 etcc...
get a higher feedback rating.. that always helps SPECIALLY if you're well under 20!
i always wait at least till i have higher feedback to start selling higher priced items..

if you're trying to have alot of income coming in.. have several accounts.. and keep making "dormant" accounts, just in case something does happen
