Default Question.... (help needed!)

Hi Guys,

Yesterday i was suspended indeffinately from ebay and been limited on my Paypal account. So far from what i have read on this website it seems there a lot of people in the same boat as me. I have followed a few instructions from askpin i.e i have first changed my IP with my ISP and will no longer log into my old accounts. I was wondering, once my IP has changed, if anybody in my household were to log into their ebay account on the new IP address, would evilbay be able to link the new ip address back to my new account being that my family member's account will be registered at the same address as my suspended account?? If that makes sense.....

Yes that is exactly what will happen. I'm surprised these other accounts haven't been taken down with yours. Only a matter of time I would say

it all depends...are they seller on ebay? if they are merely buyer ebay may not want to suspend them and you may have a chance to open a new account, but it would be risky if they are selling things too. update the forum if you go ahead and anything happens...good luck

No - do not do that. You have to understand the basic principles of stealth to succeed and right now you are heading for disaster. You do not want to be linked back to anything that has gone before. If other people are going to be logging into Ebay from your computer you MUST change the IP before you walk away from the machine.

You should also keep an XL log of all IPs used.

I seriously suggest you invest in the stealth guide to save yourself a whole load of heartache

Welcome to the forums. Stealth means FRESH and NEW. The moment an old account is logged into via whatever means of a new account, you can link them - why would you want to? New user account for each account.

Thanks for the quick and helpful replies, much appreciated! It's my mum who has the account. She does quite a bit of selling but only to the extent of second hand clothes and bits of tat. Nothing with any significance to be able to ban her so i can't see them getting onto her for anything really. I'm just worried that when or IF now as the case may be, i open a stealth account in a new name, new address but under the same new IP as my mum's they're gonna be on my tail and spanking my arse! And also my mum's, she'd flip if i was to get her shut down... I know what you're all gonna say.... BUY THE BOOK!!!! haha, i am going too, and have a good read to see what my options are.

Also, is there a quicker way to change my IP than calling the service provider?? I have tried ipconfig/release etc ways of doing it but didn't seem to work when my router is connected, Only when the modem is plugged straight into the PC.

It's quite likely your mums account will get taken down. Your best chance is to completely stay away from anything of your old accounts - and read the book before you do anything else!!

If your provider is dynamic IP, you can switch off, wait, and switch on the router.

As for "bits of tat", I am guessing that's a UK expression
