19K feedback buyer wants to buy a 1.5K item but I think he's a scammer ! what do I do

Ok so I sold an Item on ebay to this buyer, http://myworld.ebay.com/fitchboy804

Seems legit right? but he sent me this message : "Please pack securely and write eBay auction number outside the shipping package. If possible, include a copy of invoice as well. Our shipping address is (7050 Village Drive #F-100 Buena Park, CA 90621). Please provide me the tracking number once the package is shipped. Thank you~"
I googled address and found this : Bidbuy Inc, Buena Park CA 90621 -- MerchantCircle.com

"Stay away from these scammers! I am in the midst of a battle with them over a phony damage claim. They are not only dishonest but a total pain in the you know what. By the way, I have reason to suspect that they're selling the actual item I shipped under a different ebay seller name."

im selling a electronic item to this seller for approximatly 1,500, this is a personal used item.

what should I do?

My plan : Send a invoice and increase price by $1,000. if he doesnt pay he gets a unpaid strike and cant leave negitive feedback, is this a good idea?

Please reply asap..
Thanks

Send the item insured up to the price it sold for.

I personally get worried when someone has 0 feedback and is buying my expensive items. I usually jump out my window when someone has like 19,000 feedback. I get that excited.

Lol, I just followed that link you provided. Very good find.

Does this address match their confirmed PayPal address?

I am usually super cautious as well on big ticket items, but this guy has perfect feedback as both buyer and seller for 19K items! As a seller you know how hard it is to please all the wackos on ebay, still he managed.
I think insure and signature confirmation to confirmed address and you should be fine.
You other option is have him send payment to a throw away/stealth paypal. Once you get the payment, withdraw to bank and tell them to freeze the account, then ship the item.
Truthfully, I think you should be fine and might be overreacting.

I've delt with them before. They buy stuff on behalf of foreigners. Since I only sell new things and follow PP seller protection rules to the letter, I never had a problem with them.

But be careful since you're selling a used item. Seller protection excludes the SNAD claim. Make sure to keep track of the serial number, in case you need to have the item back.

They do have a good record of buying on eBay though to be honest. 20,000+ feedback for buying items of all values.

Since they buy for others, they have to be picky about used items. Like I said, never had a problem with them, just be careful.

^ Yeah exactly. Good point.

nkwatch 05-29-2011 11:04 AM

hmm, ok thanks guys.
I guess Il go for it..
If I was on a stealth acc I wouldnt worry but I sold this item on my real account.

I have personally been scammed by people with 2-3,000 feedback. This is 19,000 so I know it is different, but still interested to see the outcome. I'd be too worried myself.

I have also dealt with either them or someone similar. They do buy items for others and either resell internationally or something like that. I was worried about it as well but they bought a ton of stuff from me and it went just fine. just make sure you do what they ask for on their email. that way there are no problems. they only put that stuff on the email to make it easier for them to fine it later and confirm it was sent.

If I remember right it was used shoes that I sold them. like 20 pair or so. years ago though.

good luck.

Just email a couple of the people on their feedback. its that simple.

unkown5454 05-29-2011 11:38 PM

Doesn't mean they will respond. Also, doesn't sit well with eB ay when you do that to decent number of people.

This was years ago and now I know what to look for anyways.

To emails asking about if someones transaction was good or bad?? Did ebay tell you personally that it doesnt sit well with them?? lol

I have always used email for that type of thing. there is no harm in that. If ebay didnt want ANY emails going back and forth to people you have no transaction with then they can easily block it.

There is no harm in that. I always get responses. I ask people stuff all the time about potential problem buyers or sellers. You get VERY accurate responses like that.

Eff these people! From now on I'm cancelling orders from foreign names with US addresses. They just bought a vintage record from me for $4.99 and are complaining it has scratches. I tested it and it sounds great and I recall the cover was immaculate and they are saying it has rips. They can lick it. I opened up a case on ebay. Don't let these ppl take advantage of you.
