Heads Up About Buyer Restrictions

You can now block selling to to many places including APO addresses and the such and the islands recognized as States such as Puerto Rico, Guam, etc..

You can also block Hawaii and Alaska

What exactly is the problem with sending to those places? Is it not covered by buyer protection? I have never been quite sure why to block these locations as I have had many successful sales.

One in particular was a mini vending machine around 50lbs. I thought really it was going to be a drag shipping to Hawaii. But the cost turned out to be the same as any other location and it actually got there in 2 days. My customer was OVERJOYED with the entire transaction...

I was too since it was a nice profit :D

But if someone could explain why I should block them it would be very informational.

It depends upon what you sell. In general if it fits into a Priority Size box or Priority envelope you are safe. Can't loose your behind

Trying to send a large item to Guam for example can be very expensive. I once had a wooden house craft kit for sale, it cost $150 to send it to Puerto Rico yet I only charged $50 for the item with $25 shipping. Guy bought it even though I in my listing, in bold letters it said sic" I do not ship to Islands except Hawaii and Alaska. I only ship to the 52 States"

You cannot state in the listing it will cost this much more to ship to this or that island because it won't stand. Customer buys and that is all he is obligated to pay is the amounts you have inserted into the software.

You should have emailed him the the item was damaged when it fell out of your pickup truck on the way to the post office and then refunded him in full.

LOL! That's an idea

I let him decide whether he wanted to send me the money for shipping, he didn't. He went against my listing so I kinda chewed him out, we were really broke and I let him have it. Needed that money at the time very badly for PG&E so I kept his payment for about 3 weeks then refunded him

You've been able to do that for a while, this isn't something new.

Oh and what do you mean by 52 states? Maybe you should have said 48 states if you didn't want to ship to guam, alaska, and hawaii. Your fault for not making it clear.

I specified I do not ship to islands except Alaska and Hawaii.

I also listed where I would not ship, I mean individually so there would

be no confusion. The 52 was a typo, guess you didn't figure that out.
