| | | | | marillion | 05-30-2011 09:31 AM | My auctions haven't even started and I already messed it all up... I have logged all IP addresses...none have been the same when in my buyer and seller accounts. Each account is in a different Windows User with a different brand of browser.
This morning I scheduled three auctions to be listed starting this evening at 9pm. They all were 99 cent opening bids, no reserve, and free shipping.
Not even a few hours later I wanted to see if I had any selling limits on the account by clicking the "all selling" link, so I just now get into my seller account to check. Again, different IP's...everything is logged.
I see this :
"Attention!
Thank you for selling on eBay. In order to maintain a safe and secure online marketplace, eBay may require additional verification for newer sellers from time to time. Your listings have been placed on hold until we can speak with you.
To prevent your account from being closed, please contact an eBay representative by visiting our Contact Us page. You may be asked to sign in. Representatives are available from 5AM-10PM PST, 7 days a week.
We appreciate your cooperation in verifying your account as quickly as possible and welcome you as a valued member of our trading community.

Now I'm screwed. I didn't even get to the START of an auction! Can anyone tell me what could have happened?
Peace,
Chip |
| GrannyT | 05-30-2011 10:05 AM | Wow - I hope someone can - I'm about to go again
:pop2: |
| sdot123321 | 05-30-2011 10:37 AM | i get those to i think its what you listed that triggered the email. you just have to call and hopefully you get to answer the questions instead of faxing anything. |
| marillion | 05-30-2011 10:50 AM | I purchased the account from doughboy and know nothing about any questions to answer.
Oh well...it was worth a shot.
Peace,
Chip |
| Sell4more2 | 05-30-2011 10:57 AM | Why would you quit now? I get those 80% of the time, especially when I schedule listings and there are many. (on new accounts only). All you have to do is call them up, ask what they need. (usually they need, ID, DOCs, and invoice for the items you were trying to sell) It is very easy to get creative and make your own stealth DOCs. Soon as you have completed that you fax it to them in 5-14 business day you should get an email saying you are good to go again! :) |
| marillion | 05-30-2011 11:04 AM | How can I call when my number not only doesn't match the account, but is linked to a different account?
Peace,
Chip |
Wait - you reused an old linked number? I don't follow. |

| Sell4more2 | 05-30-2011 11:47 AM | What he means is; his real phone number is already linked to already suspended account. (so he cant call ebay) Easy fix go buy a prepaid phone: Tracphone I always use them, you get a new number and call them off there. $10 you get a phone and 20 free minutes. Or Google offers numbers for free. ;) Everything takes time and patience. Soon as your master it you can do everything in your sleep. |
| ShadyOne | 05-30-2011 11:53 AM | Yeah call from an unlinked phone number then. |
| BiN4RY | 05-30-2011 12:00 PM | How old is your account? |
| cazador | 05-30-2011 12:12 PM | This is what i think happen every time you get your auctions in hold while your talk with ebay.
When you make a seller ebay account from one location (other city)and imediatly you start selling from other location(city),you will get pullover from ebay to verify your ident..
It happen to me twice,i make a seller account from my workplace a city 45 miles away from my home, and after work i want to start sell so i list and BAM! their hold till i call them.,
i suggest every time you open or buy an account from other cities,Start surfing logged in the account from your home, your main computer with the ip you will use Do this for a couple days and you will be fine,Ebay dont like when people open accounts from one place and later start selling from other far place. |

My stealth account was located in Colorado and I'm in South Carolina. No wonder I was immediately limited.
Ugh...that's a nice waste of money.

| Sell4more2 | 05-30-2011 04:44 PM | I have accounts located 1000's of miles away from my IP. What you got is a normal eBay request. :) Like I said happens all the time and best way to resolve it is give them a call. Stealth or not it happens to everyone! |
| Sell4more2 | 05-30-2011 04:45 PM | BTW... Did you buy the eBay Stealth book? |
| KingRay | 05-30-2011 06:13 PM | Maybe post on here what you tried to sell?? maybe that would help people diagnose what is wrong here. more people need to be honest on what they sell so help can be tailored to them. |
| marillion | 05-30-2011 07:06 PM | Three action figures. 99 cent starting bids, 7 days long, no reserve, free shipping.
I scheduled them all for 9pm tonight start time and they didn't even get close to that.
Peace,
Chip |
| gcrusader92 | 05-31-2011 10:54 PM | oh for christ sake. none of you got it right.
This happens all the time and it's not your fault. When making new accounts, i get this every time too. All you have to do is call ebay and it doesnt matter what phone number u use. I have even used google voice and called them and I've even used their own company, Skype to call them. And none of my accounts have been linked or banned in the past year.
Once you call them with that number, you will hear a really annoying tune that will stick in your head.
Then once you got a hold of them they ask your name, and ebay username and sometimes your address. So give the information of whatever used when signing up.
Then they will ask you 2-3 questions from "public records" which there should be none if you made a stealth account since you made that information up. Most of the time, the answer is "NO" or "none of the above" but you have to listen carefully. For instance if your account is in Philadelphia with 19108 zip code and they ask you:
"What zip code have you lived in?"
a) 19008
b) 19100
c) 20054
d) 64004
your answer should be: "None, I have lived in 19108 (assuming this was the zip code used) all my life"
or if they ask a question like this:
"What city have you lived in?"
a) New York City
b) San Francisco
c) Philadelphia
d) Iraq
Answer: "Philadelphia (assuming this was the city used when you created the account)"
After that, they will say that "those were all correct and I will reinstate your account for you and you can use it in 10mins and you can relist your item which is in the "unsold" section of My Ebay."
Then your accounts will pretty much be okay after that.
However, if you dont call within that time, you will have to fax in utility and id (which can be Photoshopped) |

What you really need to do is figure out what triggered eb to flag you. |

| LadyLover | 06-04-2011 07:56 PM | Let me just start by saying doughboykilla is good money man he provides good service(pause) I don't understand how ppl can just photoshop a document I have photoshop and gimp and still don't know how to do it. Also can't we just pay the guy on this forum named "IDK" (no quotes) to create documents? |
| 2kmagic | 06-04-2011 08:50 PM | Ok, let me add my 2 cents here. Based on what i have read so far....and in my own experience , Ebay randomly does this to new account. I created an account with my friends name " legit " and and about 3 hours later, when i tried to sell 2" legit " items. everything went fine and i listed the item as " Buy Now " few hours later ...BAMM.. item ended... got the Glory Message.... i called them , and they asked like 3 question, i had my friend on the other line, so at this point am holding 2 phones. as ebay asked the question, i asked my friend for the answer. After that... everything ...was fine...
But i left that account alone for now.... since it's been cleared. Now i have 2 stealth... and giving it time as well.
So , my point here is that..... it might not be anything you did wrong... It's random pullover.... Ebay is like highway, you drive too fast... you might get pullover... and BAMM ticket... No court Date.. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 10:42 PM. | |
