Buy It Nows
 

I listed an auction at .99 cents with a buy it now of a certain amount.

After i get 1 bid on it the Buy it now disappears. How do I keep the buy it now available to see while bidding is going on?

Ive seen listings where i was still able to buy something whe it had bids tho

Possibly the 'reserve not met' auction?
Doesnt the option stay there in these type of auctions?

Nothing I sell has a reserve so I don't know I'm afraid - sorry:pop2:

the buy it now disapear once the bid is over 50% of the buy it now price.

Thats my own conclusion,not sure but it whats seams when i do that.:suspicious:

ya this always has pissed me off. .99 starting to save fees with a $500 Buy It Now, and sometimes it will stay and then other times dissipate after a bid. i suggest calling ebay

If there's a reserve and a BIN, then the BIN stays in place until the reserve has been met.

If there's no reserve then the BIN disappears once the first bid has been placed (which is probably what happened with your auction).

that is not always correct tho. items that i sell i start at .99 with a buy it now of 6.99

the BIN ends when bidding gets to $3.50

not sure but it might depend on the item and how much you are trying to sell it for.

This is what I found by searching this in the ebay forums.

Update to Category and Price thresholds

The following categories will have Longer Lasting BIN w.e.f 10/17/2007 with a price threshold of 50%.

1. Parts & Accessories (eBay Motors)
2. Tickets
3. Clothing, Shoes & Accessories
4. Cell Phones & PDAs

Price Threshold: 50%
i.e. The BIN option will be available on an item till the current bid reaches or exceeds 50% of the BIN price.
