Changing names on stealth befure use
 

Ok so i decided to create a couple stealth accounts under my dads name. They have been aging for about 3 months now. Now that i think of it, it might be a bad idea to do things under a family members name. So i was wondering if i can change the name on the stealth account without causing any red flags. Only the first names would change, the last names would stay the same. Would that be ok?

Bad idea. They aren't stealth accounts if they are in your dads name. Even if you change the name, which will most likely raise flags, eBay will still have record of previous info.

Yes a bad move to create anything in a family members name.

If you had created accounts with a girls name it would be easy as girls get married all the time :shocked: and the last name could be changed.

I have never tried to change a name other then testing a girls last name to see if it would work and it worked fine.

Others might be able to help you on changing a males first name but I would say leave it alone and do well with the accounts.

Then start building some accounts in stealth mode to age, by the time you use the other accounts and keep the DSR's, feedback etc good you can just switch over to the accounts you just created and leave the others sit if you want.

Well they arent exactly in my dads name. They are spelled a little different.

I changed one about 4 months after I made it. I used a completely different name. I realized I had a different name on my ebay than on paypal. Just changed it and went on. Never heard from them about any problems.

I know some of you say no good to do so but just telling you what I did for information purposes.

If you want to do it for sure with no problems just upgrade to a business account and make the new business name the same on both accounts. That would give you a reason to change it in case you were afraid the other way.

You can do whatever you want. The problem is supplying legit documentation for what you've done. If you have all of this ready, then feel free to change. But, of course the account will always have a history on the back end of your original registration information.

Biggest problem is getting the account FLAGGED. Doing changes without any history, activity is a no-no. It's not a reasonable idea. Might be different if you were female...our last names can change like the weather :juggle:

Just a passing thought - if you have used his address, then changing his name wont really matter coz if anything happens to the account, the address is doomed also, so if that is the case, its not really worth changing the name unless you have your reasons to.
