Also are these ebooks inexpensive like $1 so if you use a merchant account and get a lot of declines it costs you more money than you make? Or are they like $10?

i've sold ebooks for 10cent, $1, $10, $50, everything really, average is maybe $5
i can write you a decent NEW ebook with own copyright in my name within one or two hours, sell it profitably on ebay and have many happy buyers...
but this still doesn't solve my ebay problem.

x2ruff4u 03-29-2008 04:35 PM

I noticed there are some users that are able to list digitaly still. How is this possible? Im on a new account that option is x'd out. Can someone confirm if they can on there account still if there able to do that or see that option still? Maybe its a glitch...there abusing to do this

I changed the category of some diigital auctions from one category into a digital category and they disappeared off my list. I revised them again back into my previous non "digital" category and still no show so I completely altered the auction to something innocuous. They still didn't show up but at least if ebay investigates they'll won't find me violating any rules. The last thing I want to do is lose an account on something silly like this.

Jonas 03-31-2008 02:06 AM

steve, What do you write about that's so easy to sell? I doubt it's recipies or "make money" stuff? Are they all "how to get laid" guides or something?

x2ruff4u, If they still list digitally either it's a digital auction still going on or maybe ebay didn't ban ebooks worldwide.

thas my secret Jonas ;)
with bit internet reasearch you can get lots of information quickly for which people are willing to pay...
its not applicable to all the items or ebooks I sell, just for some...
I'm not only selling ebooks by the way, also other stuff....

becca073 03-31-2008 11:32 AM

Yah that's what I don't understand. There is a whole list of items now that are included in that group & must be listed in the classified ad section (see list) so how are some still allowed to list these items?

Ebooks
Domain names
Websites
Graphics
Ebay auction templates
Digital Embrodery
Digital Patterns
Digital Printables
Spreadsheets
Digital Software
Powerpoint, Excel & Word Templates
Digital Photos
Advertising
Audio books
Digital music downloads
Digital Service Manuals -- cars, machines, etc
Machine Building Blueprints
Architectural designs
Wholesale lists

woohoo, on ebay UK they have expanded the deadline until 29th April, so I've got a bit more time to think about my UK accounts.
And I think I can still list on my US account as well and there are many other US sellers still selling ebooks and other digital delivery items.
has anyone had problems or auction removals because of the new policy ?

aspkin 04-03-2008 05:51 AM

After read this: Techdirt: eBay Bans Auctions Of Digital Goods

I was thinking, couldn't you still list you eBooks but state in your auction that you will deliver by CD?

jimmyb1901 04-03-2008 09:58 PM

I already thought of relisting my ebooks and wholesale lists and mailing them on CD. I relisted a bunch of auctions that say the item is not digital delivery and would be on CD sent via USPS and they all got cancelled this afternoon.

I don't think ebay wants any auctions up that are for ebooks or anything like that, whether they are digital delivery or on a CD and mailed.

411guru 04-23-2008 12:36 PM

This is just what some sellers are doing. They say the ship CD but it is still digital delivery. And some are still up. I don't know why some get pulled and some stay up.

411guru 04-23-2008 12:41 PM

Jonas, from what I know. This policy applies to canada, aussie, and UK as well.

411guru 04-25-2008 09:58 AM

Yeah I know, its a pain in the but. I was making $2000 a month on 1 digital product. I see other sellers tricking ebay by saying they are selling and shipping CD but they are still sent via download. How do I know? I was reading their feedbacks and some buyers left feedback the same day of purchase! Then some bitched and said, "I thought I will get a CD but its download". This is what I plain to do too. If someone bitches I just give them refund. Just becareful as one of my accounts got suspended for digital violation.

411guru 04-30-2008 02:11 AM

It looks like the ⊗⊗⊗⊗ "This product is shipped on CD" is not working either as I've just noticed numerous of my old competitions getting killed by ebay. 2 today! The few that are left are new sellers. This is crap. I guess I have to resort to selling physical items again. Annoying times 10.

fallingforme 06-25-2008 08:55 PM

Digital products not allowed on EBAY

I just started selling diital products, and now that the seler cant leave negs on the buyer, out of 6 sales, i have had to refund 2 because i get threated with bad feedback. They just buy, then ask for a refund, and they keep the product. Yay.

Anything i can do about this? this really sux.

im listing the product 3 times with 3 types of listings, i get around that because i offer the product in paper or cd as well in the listings.

greg2414 06-25-2008 08:56 PM

Don't sell digital ITEMS.
It's actualy not allowed on ebay anymore, because of what is happening to yourself (A prime example)

Put the information on CDROM and provide tracking to ebay/paypal etc :)

Or give up selling digital information stuff!

Hope this helps :)

fallingforme 06-25-2008 08:59 PM

you can still sell digital items if listed as a classified ad.

greg2414 06-25-2008 09:21 PM

correct but to avoid these friendly frauds sell as physical! with proof!

fallingforme 06-25-2008 09:36 PM

*sighs* i guess youre right. this stinks.

anonymous 08-24-2008 02:04 AM

1/3 refunds means 2/3 didn't refund, with minimal costs involved I'd chaulk it up to cost of doing business and be happy with the 2/3. It's not like you're going out and buying new inventory lol

ebayhateluv 08-24-2008 05:34 AM

HI: yes, I agree, with those dig downloads, youre very lucky they didnt take the auctions down..
Good Luck :)

HaRdy SiNgH 08-28-2008 02:52 PM

I've been having the same problem recently selling xbox live codes, however i don't take no as my customers know :) Will start to post items from now on and look into the classfied add.

anonymous 08-29-2008 04:47 AM

only problem I can think of with classified myself is you can only know by testing and it isn't cheap- can't track others' success 1st, which is one great thing about ebay
