selling limit help

well i was just listing my items as usual when all of a sudden this came up

Attention Seller:
In order to maintain a safe trading environment, selling limits are occasionally placed on accounts. At this time, you are not able to list this item.

We sincerely value you as a member of our trading community and look forward to a continued successful relationship

how long do you think this limit will be? and is they anyway of removing the limit?

This is a weird one... is it related to your feedback? Or just for no reason?

It's a measure that's been around for some time now.. on new accounts, i find you will be able to relist, every 5 days or so.. but not huge amounts.. as your account ages and transactions increase, the limit becomes less.

Yep, that's what it is :)

Just had this happen to me with one of my new accounts. Have 0 fb and listed 10 items. On the 10th item, received the above message. Crazy enough, I was able to list a 10th item the following day but not the item I initially tried to post. Go figure? No rhyme or reason?

Hi-yes..that started last summer around the time of the Tiffany Lawsuit, for me anyhow...Its either.....1,) A Vero/ brand name-in which case they allow so many per week...OR 2.) You are dominating a Category....OR 3.) The titles are Suggestive...? OK-Workarounds................A.) if accts Yours...I'D Verify lifts limits B.) adding/linking pp lifts those limits...... C.) trying a verbage change/ category change- D.) Removing overseas ship to...keep domestic only Again...these are My own experiences + they worked for me...Good Luck ;)

Just wait a few days. List on another account in the meantime :)

I read on ebay's forums somebody had that come up a lot several times and then they got suspended for "abusing ebay". It was their first ebay account or something, too.

Lol, it's a good idea on eBays end. Most people don't list that much in the beginning, and that's what eBay is counting on. They don't want Us around, they want new eBayers. Anyways, that's annoying.

I have experienced this as well, I am guessing you have to have a certain amount of positive feedback with that particular item to get the limit lifted. I saw another seller with around a 250 feedback score selling Vero items in very high volume. My limit on this particular item was 2 a month. This person was selling well over 50 a month. eBay uses your feedback to verify that particular item. That is why it is very important to try to make your accounts last as long as possible, the higher your feedback score, the better chance you have for sticking around. Also, the more accounts you have, the more items you can sell as well.

Question on this: Is it safe to ID Verify? Will this open me up to any unforeseen problems?

unfortuantemistake 02-16-2010 03:26 AM

Easy fix.

List your item with the same title and descrpition and just list it in the everything else > other category.

You can also list as a 1 or 3 day auction this way, when listing in the correct category you have to list as a 5 or 7 day auction.

Just make sure you don't list more than 1 item in this category at a time or you risk getting flagged for it.
