Listing in wrong category

Has anybody listed on a wrong category and had a successful listing without having it taken down? I know its against eBay rules but do they notice?

Ever done that yourself? by accident or on purpose?

Thanks

My opinion only this can be done whithout triggering but...Not advisable at all. One or two times not getting the alarms on doesn´t mean you will get even next time.

I have and usually just ended in lower sale price... However that was before the catalog was in full effect....

Agreed. Recent changes were made on E Bay to somewhat prevent this to happen.

Yes, i have done it before in the past.

If someone complains about the listing for something else they look closer at the listing then MC999 it saying it's a violation to mis-categorize.

The key is to list it in a category that it could possible be listed under. Say you sell football jersey. It could be under jerseys, sweaters, sports memorabilia, sports pennants, etc.

Yes i do it ALL the time sold hundreds in different but correct category.. put it on a CLOSE category.. you wouldn't put a sweater under electronics obviously and vice versa

I move items around all the time. So far no problems. But I do not sell high risk electronics etc either.
