How long would it be safe to use the suspended address again?

I just wonder how long would it be safe to use my house address again? I had an eBay account that was suspended for half a year. I would like to use my house address to do business (as a different name of course).
Is it possible to do that? I just pretend to be a new guy, who just moved in. And the suspended user has been gone.
How long will it take for a physical address to completely cool off?

Why not do some creative address altering? Lots of post about it.

Out of all the address's in the USA, let along the address's you have access to and you want to use the same one? Come on now, there are plenty of LEGAL options, and using the same address is like going back to the scene of the crime......wont end well.

Funny thing is I have two ebay accounts and one is suspended and the other is not. There is information like addresses on one account ,names matching and what not but the other account was never suspended. What they did do actually one a 3rd account that was linked to a suspended account was actually just lower the selling limit. They actually never suspended the account because it was linked to a suspended account.

What's even funnier is when I answered the questions for the unsuspended account to raise the selling limit, ebay asked me what account is associated with this account and it was the suspended account . I clicked that one and they actually raised the limit on the account even though I know for sure it is linked based on that question they asked.
I wonder if ebay is as smart as we think or we are all overly paranoid sometimes.

Address is only one link - people move in and out of properties - but as others have said - why take the risk? - not good stealth tactic IMO

I am wondering if I have the marbles to risk an account by using my old paypal that was suspended to an old ebay account and switch up the address a little , change the email and see if they link me because technically I am not linking the paypal account , I am just adding another paypal to it. Silly I know but based on the fact they raised my selling limit on one account basically telling them this account is associated with a suspended account is making me want to test their software abilities.

Hmmmm ... Have you mentioned these suicidal tendencies to any health professionals?

My last account, I created using the exact same name and address of another account that was suspended a few weeks before. The only thing I changed was the phone number and paypal account. And that last account lasted 7 months and had no selling limits. It only went down because someone reported my listings.

But to be really stealth, you need to change all the info. We can always make dry test runs and see how good their system is at detecting banned users.

Using an address of a suspended account?

Might as well shoot yourself in the foot now and get it over.

I can tell you this because this is my situation.
After 2 years that I got my real info ebay account suspended (suspended in 2008) I re open a new ebay account with my exact same address, dob phone name, paypal, just a different email BUT the account I just start using it to buy things. and for for 1 year and a half (beg of 2010 to mid of 2011) I didnt have any problem. starting on mid's of 2011 I convert that ebay account to a sales account and I start selling on it until now BUT no risk items. 0 problems atm.
Now what I can think about this experience its that ebay just put their eyes on start linking accounts when they become seller accounts + high risk items OR probably they do some kind of data erase after 2 yrs probably.. I dont know its just what I can get in conclusion on how I am right now with that account

I agree, using the same address does not mean an automatic suspension, But it will raise the risks. if you play it safe and don't get complains or reported, then you should be fine. I am in the same situation right now, i would like to open an account with my address, but i would feel bad for the time and work i will put into it if it gets suspended down the road. Do it if you don't have another option.

Thank God using the same name is OK. After all, many people do have the same name.

Imagine if we all got shut down using the same name. What a pain it would be to set up stealth accounts if we could not use the same name. I don't think I'd be able to get a bank account (different name) without breaking the law.

GreenBean 10-06-2011 09:08 AM

Bank accounts are always made with your real ID.... always.
