SNAD opened Im the seller need advice

I sold a lot of disney dvd's for BIN $320.00. Item stated scratches but still work no returns. Buyer contacts me and states only watched one movie does not have time to go thru all 50 hours wants full refund said I knew they were scratched and don't play. I know they work I watched each one they came from my personal collection. I offered a small refund of 10$ before he stated he wasn't gonna even attempt to watch the rest.
I want to escalate and not pay.

Kiss your money goodbye.

Your 'no refund' policy is worthless.

I'll let other folx chime in too

scrane13 10-28-2011 07:29 PM

The buyer stated DVD has sound but picture skips or freezes on 1 movie. He then stated he was NOT going to play the other movies to see if they work!

Also some dvd players plays skuffed or scracthed dvds better the other ones. Yeah no refunds or sold as is means nothing to ebay. If the buyers not happy then ebay is not happy.

eBay/PayPal will most likely side with the buyer.

Best course of action is to have the buyer send them back and refund their money.

Then, assuming they are legitimate, test the discs to make sure they work and re-sell them. Get rid of any that do not play.

You can state in your listing all you want to about "no returns" and "no refunds" but the fact is, if the merchandise does not work properly, the eBay Buyer Protection policy will do just that - protect the buyer.

Ummm, I think its rinse and repeat, then dry off.

Sorry hommy you arent going to keep that $320. Just be glad the buyer is mot claiming fa-ke dvds and might actually return them. Dont refund the buyer $10, just refund the entire amount when you get your stuff back.

As Jeff said, having a no refund policy is useless. It's better to have a return policy of 7 days to attract more bids. Just because you say no refunds means nothing. Ebay terms over rides anything you put in the listing.

So true, especially nowadays with the $30 DVD players being sold at Walmart & Target. Even tne tiniest scratches can render a DVD unplayable on those pieces of junk!

You need to state next time dvds some or all might not play and might skip. You are purchasing a lot as is and if they skip or none of them play right then its not my problem. That why you stop the problematic buyers from buying.

Sorry, it doesn't matter what disclaimer or description you put in your auction. If a buyer wants their money back they will get it through ebay, paypal or finally their CC company. Hopefully, you might even get them back before they give him his refund, but I would not count on that. Your only other option is to walk away and go stealth.

:eek:I thought it that it was only Business Sellers have to accept returns...Where is ebays seller protection???!!!

I mean you would think that the logical thing would be to protect the sellers because buyers come and go all the time, but without the sellers there would be NO ebay!!

eBay would be perfectly happy to get rid of all of the small sellers. Their CEO, John Donahoe has stated as much when he said eBay looked like a flea market and he was embarrassed by it.

They love Sears and Buy.com and Disney. The rest of us, not so much.

If you offer returns, you get more bids, your auctions sell for more money....

Even if you have lets say 20 auctions with returns, and lets say your items sell for 4 more dollars per auction, (you can track this) and you get one return, you only lost 20 bucks, and made 80 more. You just have to do the math. You're not responsible for return shipping, the only thing you really lose is the shipping to the customer.

scrane13 10-31-2011 10:28 AM

Thanks everyone. I have made it to power seller with 100% feedback. I will just eat the shipping cost and make sure they are working before reposting. I do have a bluray player so they must have a cheap player lol
I did some research and I'll make more money selling each one individually. I usually have a return policy but like you all say it doesn't matter so why not just have the return policy
So glad I found this forum!
