Is AOL being treated as a bad thing now?

I have tried following the rules on the sight. I use AOL and always make sure it is going through an AOL IP Address using whatsmyipaddress.com.

It seems that the accounts go up fine, but as soon as I list even the slightest thing the account is suspended within a day for abusing EBAY.

All cookes deleted. Even tried ccleaner and all the other tactics like using a new Paypal account. Suspended.

This is clearly getting much harder. They can't suspend everybody forever, but it appears that for now, they are suspending almost everything.

Next time list some random item, something you've never listed before and see if you still get the abusing eBay. If you do, you're being linked somehow.

Also make sure your IE cookies are deleted, I believe AOl browsers share cookies with IE browser?

Also I think there are automatic flags for using a proxy? Even if its AOL?...but alot of people use AOL so its probably something else...I use AOL only to access my old Paypal and don't use it for ebay...its best to find a way to change the IP manually...are you selling VeRO?

Nope, no VERO, ever, but when I say AOL, I mean broadband AOL...

it only rotates between one or two IP addresses in your area, both of which are well known to EBAY. And there is really only one reason to use them right? As a proxy. So, I think EBAY is paying extra attention to anyone using them.

Dial-in AOL should be fine.

Although if you are paranoid, AOL and EBAY are sort of partners. So, I am always paranoid they share information. But I have heard of no problems with AOL dial-up use with EBAY.

Why not just use IE/FF, and change your IP?

ebayaintstupid 04-14-2008 08:00 PM

Ie/ff?

Internet Explorer I figure is IE. FF is Firefox. And changing your IP work.

But how do they address your dealing with multiple EBAY accounts on your IP? You can't change it every 15 seconds.

I figure you are 16, so you are way ahead of me on the internet. :) So tell me where I am wrong.

The idea behind a proxy like AOL or dial-up is that there are many instances where people have multiple EBAY accounts and need to change their IP at will. Some have static IP addresses with their providers and cannot change at all.

I can change mine, but it takes a day or two between changes. If I need to invoice on two different EBAY accounts and don't want them linked, how do I do that waiting two days in between?
