New eBay Australia virtual customer support technician "Emma"

I dont know if anyones seen this or its been posted but eBay Australia are supposedly trialing there new online technician called "Emma", its suppose to be an option to using live support, im guessing its basically the same, but it just feeds you more automated responses and bull****. anyone had any experiences with it ...

eBays post regarding "Emma"

We are pleased today to introduce Emma!

Emma is a virtual customer support agent we are piloting starting today. While Emma is in her pilot phase she’ll only be available to approximately 30% of eBay.com.au members.

The introduction of Emma is aimed to help you get your answers quickly - without having to navigate through the help pages or wait to chat with a customer service agent.

How does Emma work?
Emma provides an experience similar to live chat where you ask questions and she responds.

When you click on Live Help, a screen will appear asking you to choose to chat with a live agent or Emma. She’s been trained on many of the most frequently asked questions and we’ll continue to train her on more and more topics.

At the beginning of the pilot, Emma’s going to be learning the words and phrases that members use in asking questions - so if she can’t answer your question initially, don’t give up on her, she’ll continue to learn and know more the next time you use her.

Regards
The eBay team

Probably another typical virtual eBay employee. We're told they exist but they don't do anything....well at least anything worthwhile

I like the bit where it says emma will be learning, again typical of ebay staff need to learn something......LEARN TO LOOK AFTER THE PEOPLE THAT PAY THEIR WAGES

Now that would be very interesting, I wonder what will happen.

Is Emma really going to learn things on her own or are programmers going to watch her chats based on your ratings?

If Emma actually is an attempt at sentients she could one day go skynet on eBay/GayPal.

I was going through the BT website tonight and came across their virtual assistant funnily enough she's called Emma too.

Well any way I tried her out by asking can I have a .... job, she politley replied ' I am not programmed to respond to insults please ask me a question about BT'

Typical service from BT always avoid the subject of the question
