Average profit per item sold?

Just curious to the average profit you are getting per item sold?

extension 04-12-2008 12:49 PM

I'm selling porn, alright.

That's .25 per DVD, .25 per case, .25 per cover print, and .50 per DVD label. Plus 1.30 to 2 for shipping.

Spending 3.25 yeilds 400 to 500% of profit. Not counting credit card processing fee and ebay listing fee, as well as final value fee.

So it's 300 to 400 % profit.

imjustme 04-12-2008 02:01 PM

About $30-$40 per item. I sell about 25-30 these days. My wife says I need to see the sun more, but otherwise she's not complaining :)

ebayhateluv 04-12-2008 05:30 PM

I always try to maintain 100& profit, before expenses, i.e. Double your money-then back out ebay/pp fees, other cost of sales expenses, so mine is prob, av. 70-82%

ebay-sucks 04-12-2008 05:53 PM

When we were power selling we didnt look at profit per item per say, we looked at daily profits from buy it nows and ending items. We liked to double our money but looked at the chart for daily profits.
Many times we would sell 75-100 items per day with buy it now and would have a large group of items ending every day of the week.
So for us, it was daily profits and monthly total profits we looked at because we knew if we sold xx amount we would make xx per day and per month.

someperson 04-12-2008 08:21 PM

220% About $90 profit before fees

Thechronicles 04-12-2008 08:31 PM

wow, i have diff. standards i dont sell anything that i cant make $200.00 profit off of after all fess or 500% profit, my items i usually make anywhere between 300.00-500.00 profit easily.

tvaughan08 04-12-2008 09:02 PM

Im around 350% but after fees maybe 315%

thelizardking 04-12-2008 09:55 PM

After its all said and done about 250%-300%, I get a few 400% every month...

jscan 04-12-2008 11:52 PM

best rate is around 400-500%
worst is at 40%

ebayhateluv 04-13-2008 12:42 AM

Those profit Margins are way out of my League..I'm always happy buying something for $20 + selling for $39.95..Guess that's why I gotta work harder? I average 16 hrs/day..6 days wk.

jscan 04-13-2008 12:48 AM

i usually dont sell anything unless i think i can get at least 40-50% profit of it as a minimum. particular items i get for around $40, usually i can sell them at $250-400 no problems. really depends on what your selling, the amount of work you do etc.

Superpak 04-13-2008 06:16 AM

Omg that is crazy. My average profit margin (legit) non vero items is about $6.00.

Thechronicles 04-13-2008 08:39 AM

if you have a decent account with about 50 feedback and a paypal account, you know how much money i can make on it in one day?
the sky's the limit, but the thing is you can NOT get greedy, for ex. if your making $2000.00 profit a day and you get greedy which by the way most people do get greedy they double their auctions and 80% of the time something goes wrong and they loose everything.

aspkin 04-13-2008 08:48 AM

With those kind of profits, the people who aren't 'Registered Supporters' should be... come on guys! Lol

EBayhateluv told me you guys made some decent money... but come on... Lol

Throb-n-Rod 04-13-2008 09:16 AM

Adult = 300% to 500%
Government surplus = 500% to 700%
Everything else = 100% to 300%

mantisinc 04-13-2008 10:53 AM

aspkin 04-13-2008 06:51 PM

GreenBean 04-13-2008 07:41 PM

In Oz, I only pay US50c. for LPG. That does OK for my needs. The new 4x4 will take
diesel and that will cost US$1.40. I am going to bi**ch about that.

Big time because I quoted the price per liter and not per gallon. Sorry.

jscan 04-13-2008 09:10 PM

i want to go an LPG conversion for my car, unleaded fuel is just to expensive.

Thechronicles 04-13-2008 09:38 PM

lol, quick question
why are we talking about gas/diesel prices?

just curious.

jscan 04-14-2008 07:18 AM

because there so high lol

mantisinc 04-14-2008 08:28 AM

Average profit maybe about £15 or so per item, on a good may may sell up to 15 or so items per day.

siashay 04-14-2008 09:46 AM

when you want to get rid of that titan let me know. I need something to pull the camper. I am pulling a 26 foot with a jeep. (its a chick thing). Not working to well. Or if anyone wants to get rid of a hummer. hint hint.

jscan 04-14-2008 10:00 AM

lol a to fill a hummer up would send me on the brink of bankruptcy

love2hate-ebay- 04-14-2008 11:40 AM

Right now my profit is 0 i can't sell anything on ebay anymore :(

jscan 04-14-2008 11:45 AM

get back to it :), churn out those accounts.

ebayaintstupid 04-14-2008 02:43 PM

Hey love2hate...

How are things going? PM Me and lets compare notes. Might help.

LoveEbayNHateEbay 04-14-2008 07:30 PM

I have a formula that gives me 100% profit, which is basically $5.00 per item sold. But, since I need no less than $5000 a month for the baby's medical expenses, I work just about 24/7.

zishan786110 09-01-2013 06:58 PM

You guys need to give me some ideas, with those high profit percentages.

When you say ideas....exactly what are you looking for?
If your looking for ideas on what to sell....this isn't going to go anywhere. No one is going to share on what they sell.

stanislav 09-01-2013 07:38 PM

LOL! Good luck getting same profits like they did in 2008. It's a different world today.

Jack 09-01-2013 08:36 PM

My profits are anywhere from $12 dollars, and up to $60 dollars. My whole goal is on daily profit though. How much am I making per day. Back in my glory days I would make anywhere between $200-350 a day. Now its about $75-150 (on good days)!

But don't compare yourself to other people! Do what is best for your level, and your accounts!

Good Luck Everyone!

Dmshark25 09-02-2013 12:03 AM

Yea those profit margins in 2008 were insane !!!!!

trains 09-02-2013 12:30 AM

lol -I was wondering the same thing last night. I try and get $10 (£6) per item - going to hide now.........

oh and my aim at the moment is $40 a day -haha !! I gotta lot of learning ahead......

jamcocktail21 09-02-2013 02:05 AM

I had 500%-1000% profit before but this is a nightmare,i could don't sleep well, was always afraid that somebody will knock on my door and always had to open new accounts and so on:)

Right now around $10-$15 profit from each item but i sleep well and enjoy my life

JamesNorth101 09-02-2013 07:27 AM

On average, I make generally between £4-16 after all expenses, which is around 80% pure profit, small but when selling in large quantity it builds up.

I also have one off items that cost very little to make (£100 or so), but can sell for £500 or £600. They take a day or so each to make.
