How much is too much for new seller without selling history?
 

I know I am not going to get direct answer here since everyone likes to keep their secret strategy to themselves and that's okay but if by some chance you wish to help, you are always welcome to PM.

My question is this. How much would anyone recommend not to exceed when selling on 3-4 month old eBay with no previous selling history? Would you say that up to 2K will be fine if it's a non vero item?

well... :noidea: ....I've heard plenty of stories where people get limited because of sudden jumps in profits/sales/money transactions, especially when its a new seller and I also know from experience (both directly and with neighbors, family , some friends and plenty of forums) that there are many cases when paypal will limit you and ask for evidence..but when you send it they take no notice and keep you limited or outright perma-ban you anyway --as if their decision on the matter is based on a roll of the dice.

(I really do hate to think that people may theoretically have to systematically limit their sales and profit, else risk being banned from 80% of online buying for them AND everyone who lives with them permanently just for having a good day of sales; But I'm in England so I don't discount it.)

All I can say is that I've read alot of guides about paypal and ebay that provide a consensus that you need to start off slow and slowly build up; But I'm sure some more experienced users can support or deny the validity of that concept from direct experience. Just going by what I've seen and heard from independent sources, thats all.

there is no right or wrong answer here. there are so many variables that can cause alarm for ebay. everyone on here could post what has and has not worked for them and you would still not have a good answer

I never go over 1K a month, regardless of the age of the account. Because you get closer to that 20K tax ID stuff, and you make yourself more noticable to them. It's all about spreading sales and staying under the radar.

All the way in... that is if u can back it up... If u can support that u r legit. Usually the way it happens, well the way it happened to me. U get under review then u get a request for additional info... In my case it was a business acct of the manufacturer that i was handling. I just sent them copies of the certificates of the ISBNs being registered in the manufacturers name and bam it was all fine again. They usually give u a list of the things u can send them... sorry don't remember what exactly was on the list
