About to sell...

Hi,

On a new account when you go to sell the first item they then want to do the verification...

When they call the number that I have put on eBay is it a real person or automated voice?

Also what is said?

Thanks

Mzgr3k0 12-02-2011 07:08 AM

It is an automated voice and all they do is give you a four digit number to type in !!

Nothing to worry about !! They call whatever number you nominate , even if it's your uncles cousins nephews brothers sisters mums dads house number. =]]]

'Select a payment method for seller fees and buyer reimbursements'

Paypal
Credit Card
Direct Debit

Which one is best to choose?

xxxhustlerxxx 12-02-2011 07:42 AM

paypal, you can then pay your fees with your vcc.

Callidus 12-02-2011 07:58 AM

Its going to be hard to sell the first few products with 0 feedback lol

GreenBean 12-02-2011 08:00 AM

Then do not expect a verification phone call.

Expect to get a suspension notice MC010 or MC011 or worse

Callidus 12-02-2011 08:19 AM

Greenbean - what you referring to ?

xxxhustlerxxx 12-02-2011 08:27 AM

lol you cant sell on 0 feedback. you will just get banned!

Callidus 12-02-2011 08:29 AM

I have spoken to people on this forum who have said it is fine to sell small items one at a time on 0 feedback...I was told by someone on here who has read stealth that it even states it in there as long as it is not high risk..?

xxxhustlerxxx 12-02-2011 08:30 AM

the way i do it, is in the first 30 days. buy 10 things to get 10 feedback, once the 30 days are over. sell something small. keep selling small items over the month, then on the second month i sell my big stuff!

Callidus 12-02-2011 08:32 AM

Oh okay, but selling 1 small item then waiting a week and doing it that way should be alright, thats what I was told anyway ?

xxxhustlerxxx 12-02-2011 08:34 AM

maybe i am wrong then? but i have allways thought selling on 0 feedback will raise a flag and just get you banned! thats why i have allways done it the way i said above^

Callidus 12-02-2011 08:37 AM

No I dont know.. I just asked questions and thought it would be fine.

So people that dont know about these forums.. a mum somewhere goes onto ebay signs up and lists some clothes shes getting rid of as her child has grown out of them... she'll get a MC010 or MC011 ... really?

ingle92protege 12-02-2011 08:39 AM

Of course you can sell with 0 feedback. I've done it many times

It is a lot riskier than if you waited it out 30 days and bought a few things you need though.

Just make sure you sell low risk items and you do things a newbie would do.

xxxhustlerxxx 12-02-2011 08:39 AM

thats the way i have allways known it! i might be wrong! wait for someone else to respond. but the way i have allways seen it. selling on 0 feedback will just get you banned.

like i said i build the feedback up to 10 in the first 30 days.

Callidus 12-02-2011 08:42 AM

Okay cool Ill just learn from whatever happens...trial and error (it is ebay after all)

Mzgr3k0 12-02-2011 09:10 AM

U can get some quick easy feedback by buying prepaid post satchels from ebays auspost store .. If that helps.

Good tips all around - and yes selling with no feedback is doable but you need to appreciate all the intricacies of pp and eb before you risk it.

seanws30 12-02-2011 11:38 AM

best advice i can give to selling with 0 feedback, is to mark whatever you are selling as used, and dont start with a laptop or an iphone.

go to the local thrift store, buy some junk if you have to, then list it. lose money if you have to. its worth it for the feedback

GrannyT 12-02-2011 02:27 PM

On a new account I have always started selling with 0 feedback - depends what you are selling

Thought I was right when I said about selling with 0 feedback.

I've listed some used DVD#s only 2. Like 1.50£ including postage.

Hopefully they sell.
