I'm not going on strike with any of my accounts. It's not helping and I'd rather make money, sorry.

thelizardking 04-16-2008 06:03 PM

I agree, I gotta make that money, what did the last strike accomplish anyway?

ebayaintstupid 04-16-2008 06:04 PM

Issue is, how long do you make money...

as EBAY continues to screw you.

jscan 04-16-2008 09:11 PM

id rather make money, striking is pointless, ebay wont feel a thing.

Jonas 04-17-2008 03:31 PM

The strike itself is no good. A strike with instead everyone flooding an ebay competitor is good. But amazon.com sucks because it forces its own payment system like ebay.

So a strike should be everyone register on an ebay competitor and then all list there for a week. Then put on your ebay about page you are listing there. eBay won't let you link, but you can state the name and stuff and break a link out.

If i thought the strike would accomplish something...then i would be the 1st in line...but knowone actually knows how to conduct a legitimate strike so what's the point. Actually when I hear people striking against ebay...I laugh, and laugh somemore. The last strike accomplished nothing.

ebayhateluv 04-19-2008 11:22 AM

Same here- I took alot of Grief last time around- from Chris-- BUT<
I say--SELL.. thats it. We cant make that much difference,. PLUS--even some of the folks who "tell you" theyre gonna strike, their Financial Conditions cause them to HAVE TO keep selling..
I have too many kids. I need my cash flow continually flowing!! :))

ebayaintstupid 04-19-2008 02:20 PM

This reminds me of an email I got recently...

that says to not buy gas for a week or two from Exxon or Mobil to force gas prices down.

It sounds good on the surface, but it could never work.

People just don't cooperate on that type of scale short of a Presidential Election, and even only a fraction of them show up.

tvaughan08 04-19-2008 02:45 PM

If you going to strike...u need to strike long enough for ebay stock to be driven into the ground. The the shareholders will pull out, and then ebay will reform, it might take 2 months, it might take 3 months it might take 6 months...but i doubt that the people who wants to strike against ebay have the endurance to hold out that long.

Below is a quote from Reuters on Ebay's first quarter performance. After the initial dip in listings due to the strike in February, the number of listings actually increased. This increase was the first such increase in over a year. Makes you think?????

"Also that month, eBay introduced controversial pricing and customer service standards for eBay sellers that have raised the cost for some sellers to do business on eBay.

After an initial dip in February, Wall Street analysts say the changes resulted in growth in new auction listings in six of the last seven weeks of the first quarter. That reverses a declining trend prior to the changes, Jeffries & Co has noted.

First-quarter new listings rose 2 percent over the fourth quarter and 10 percent from a year ago. But for merchandising improvements to translate into stepped-up eBay revenue growth, the company must do more to attract new buyers, analysts say.

In a sign that eBay may have begun making progress winning back users, the company reported that active users on the site grew 1 percent during the first quarter, the first increase in a year in the number of site users."

Ha. I read that ebay's partners paypal and skype performed well so that helped as well.
Then I puked and read no more. We need a couple of dozen good Welsh,Geordie or Appalachian miners to show people how to strike. Despite
protests, people do not think that a strike is important enough.

aspkin 04-19-2008 06:49 PM

Publicity of any kind is good on the internet. People wanting to know more about what's going on will go to eBay.com; They'll find their self interested in a product, create an account and start buying and selling. I like when people talk about about anything I do. They create a website, start bashing the forums or any other work I do, and all it does is bring more people to my websites. It's funny.

mantisinc 04-20-2008 10:28 AM

Streaking sounds like plan if you ask me!

Jonas 04-22-2008 01:13 AM

What is the story behind that picture?

ebaysucksthebigone 04-22-2008 05:29 PM

i say strike if you believe in the cause, do it.... as one we are alone but together we are a force to be reckoned with :)

ebaysuspensionking 04-23-2008 03:41 AM

i will participate. i think if everyone involved, the strike impact can be big. at least it passes a message to the management that their system, especially T & S are sucks. they allow any of their competitors to take aways their customers very soon.

GreenBean 04-23-2008 04:46 AM

Story Behind the Picture

Jonas, that poor streaker saw imjustme before he combed and brushed his hair.
You have heard of scared the living daylights out of a person? This is her.:p Or she's running from the Yakuza.

divine422 04-23-2008 10:34 AM

Im not sure what a strike will do other than cause me to lose money that day by not listing. I dont think enough people are doing it for it to be a huge deal. However a certified Ebay Sellers Union (ESU) would be interesting
