Competitor Stealing Pictures

So I have a competitor that has been stealing my pictures. Normally I wouldn't care but now he is listing the same hour as me so our listings are close to eachother resulting in loss of customers for me!

I was also wondering if the block feature blocks the person from seeing anything I list? I want to contact them and tell them to end it or they are getting reported but I dont want them to then come after me.

I don't want to be a rat and draw attention to my stealth, but what would you do?

since i dont use any fancy software anymore. (used to use 'listing factory' but im not in business anymore) i would put the image into 'paint' and then write my ebay user name in the middle of the picture. that way when he tries to use the picture he cant just crop it to avoid your writing, the picture will be useless to him or anyone else. im sure you used to be able to add your ebay user name into the picture using ebay, and make it slightly transparent. but not tried that for a while.

in a perfect world you would be able to imbed some choice words into your pictures so when he copies them and then uses them, he would just get banned on his own.

but i would just do what the other guy said and watermark the pictures with your username on them so you can put a stop to it. if you report him, he will know it is you and find a way to ruin your life

Brings back a memory....

Back in the day, eBay allowed us to host pictures on 3rd party servers, or on our own servers. I hosted mine on my website.

This jerk stole my ENTIRE AD! Word for word, he didn't bother to change a single thing. I had like 15 pictures and graphics in that ad and he didn't even bother to change the links.

I contacted him and asked him to stop. He immediately took an attitude with me, telling me about how I was scamming people and that he would do whatever he liked. He then left me some particularly NASTY negative feedback (back then, anyone could leave feedback for anyone, you didn't need to have a transaction).

So, I changed my ad to all new links on my website, renaming everything.

Next, I went into the eBay adults only section. For those who remember, back in the day, it was pretty raunchy! I won't go into detail, suffice it to say it contained some of the most disturbing pictures I have ever seen.

So, I "borrowed" 15 of the most disgusting pictures I could find and renamed them to the same names of the graphics I had in the original links.

So, people looking at this guy's ad would end up seeing my creatively done Raunch-O-Rama in all its glory.

His account was NARU'd in about 6 hours!

AAAHHHHH.... THE GOOD OLD DAYS!

I did the same thing last week to a competitor, with the porn images. Reported him to eBay myself, too. He got suspended in less than 1 hour :D
