Access to False Postal Addresses

OK, here's a question for you. This applies to anyone.

Where a false postal address is used and you may therefore not get the mail etc, why can you not ask the PO closest to that address to hold any mail or have an address redirect? Surely that would help?
If you go on vacation, you can get your mail held so can you not control postal delivery for a false address?
Does this make sense?

Usually it requires verification. I recently redirected mail to my new address online. They used my credit card to verify it was my real address.

Hmm. Thanks. So there is a workable solution.

In the Uk, you just fill a form in, and i think it costs something like.. £30 to have mail redirected for 4 months, can't recall what info they required..

Scouse, that sounds good. You pay in OZ as well but not as much. Your mail can be redirected for up to a year. I am therefore thinking that with creating new accounts etc, that if you factor this in as well you can control ebay better... if you understand....

As stated on the Royal Mail website the requirements for the uk are :

Before starting your online application, please have the following information to hand:

Old address details (including full postcode)
New address details
Date of birth
Credit or debit card details
Names of all residents to be included in the Redirection, and how long they have lived at the old address

http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/p...mediaId=600008

or if applying by post you have to send original documents and they only accept driving license, passports or utility bills / banks statements.

They also like to remind that it is a criminal offence to try and have someone elses (different name) mail redirected, people on here wouldn't such a thing now would they......

With planing one might be able to have a false address working.

Look up virtual address.

It's better for me here, we got snow birds. Pick one that is away and send mail there. Use crow bar to check for new mail. Haven't done it yet, but will soon, they all leaving in May.
