Default My experiece with confirming ID

I have a new stealth account up and going, i listed an item, it sold but the buyer was out of the country so we agreed to cancel the transaction.
I then listed another item, it didnt sell so i relisted it, sold it to a friend at work and then we agreed to cancel and we just left each other positive feedback.
I then tried to relist the very first item i had tried to sell and it said i had reached my limit on selling these sorts of items (electronics/video games) and that i could relist if i confirmed my identity.

Sounded easy enough so i clicked the tab, now it asked if my name, address, and number were correct, i clicked yes.......Then it took me to a page where it asked what year i purchased this home.... What state one of my supposed grand children live in, which address i previously lived in, andf there were a couple more i cant remember because i got spooked and quickly backed out of that page because i couldnt answer all of the questions.

I knew some answers because i created the stealth account in my fathers name, but there were some i had no clue like his previous address that was before i was born !
I have never seen a post about anything like this so i thought i would share this info... and i have no clue how ebay got that info....

Yes im sorry, i didnt look for this exact thing before i posted. I have just browsed and read things on here and never read anything about that.
I just read and posted on someone elses Post who had the same problem. But he answered all of the questions and then they told him he already had an ebay account, i backed out of the screen because i didnt know all the answer's.
So should i get the answers to the questions and answer them or just act like i am a different person than those questions apply to ? Or just see what happens and roll with it ?

As you used real data of a real person, eb has access to public records and use them to verify that you are who you say you are. Then, they quiz you with all sort of questions that mostly only the real person would know... I suggest that you ask your father and submit the right answers. You would be fine then

And in the future dont use any other real person's data besides yourself. Why do you want to get other people in trouble if something happens. And I really hope your not going to also use his SSN. That would bring up all kinds of new problems, including the IRS.

Woa there cowboy !! I did exactly what the eBay Stealth Book said to do, if you disagree then maybe you should write another book. I will use his SS# if I need to in the future, that is the whole idea of using a real persons info. I don't do anything to get anyone into trouble so that's not something I am worried about.

Sorry, I didn't meant it like that. It's just that using real info from other people is bad. You can do the first name of a friend and last name of another friend. Bingo new person.

What we are trying to say is ebay has a record of always getting scammed somehow by a buyer and paypal siding with them. Say you sell 1k of stuff and you get scammed. The ssn is already on paypal so paypal sides with the buyer nomatter what you do. Would you be willing to pay that 1k back? If you don't the actual ssn holder will get a letter in the mail and into the credit system for not paying the fee. That's all we are saying why its not good to use a real ssn. Now if you have permission from the ssn holder then your good to go.
