Increasing Seller Limits by linking established acct?

Interesting situation I'm in....

The company I work for had an eBay store for several years which exceeded 6,000 feedbacks. After going through several incompetent employees (running said eBay account) the account was eventually brought down by bad DSR ratings.
This is where I came in, I have a 10 year old eBay account from which I have sold items for a long time. On this account I am both a Top-Rated seller and Silver Powerseller. I started them a new account using new info of course and following the guidelines I saw here. The only problem is that the selling limits are well below what I would call "useful". After selling and playing it cool for a few months, I have made it to the 110/$5,000 mark, but I still need much higher limits. Here is where the problem comes in...I click the "raise seller limits" link, and my only remaining option is to call them or link to another established account.

So, do I call them? Do I say, "Hi, I run this eBay account for my employer and have a well established eBay seller account with no selling limits. Is there any chance this can be considered and you might raise / remove my seller limits?"?

My only other option is to link with my established account, but what would happen if I did that? Will this even work since my employers account is in their name (Can I tell eBay I run the account for them?) Do I now need to worry about taxes on their sales even though the account is under their info and the money goes into their paypal?

Any advice is appreciated, I tried searching the forums for anything relevant to this but I had no luck..

Dont think that will work, I believe it has to be YOUR account in your name.

Good way to KILL both accounts.

Names should match always.

2ndly, ebay has been largely inconsistent with letting sellers link accounts after one account has been slapped with selling restrictions.

We know that different people in ebay tell sellers different stories. Makes it risky.

Based on name differences alone I would not consider damaging either account.
Reconsider this carefully:noidea:

Maybe just call solely about the account that has the 110/$5000 limits... As long as you sell all legit items and you have a legit business model, I think you can get increased limits... It's pretty grey though about calling on behalf of your employer, the ebay account owner.

If you link the account to another account that is established with a whole different name and address then you can be linked and both go down pending documents. Don't do it because so many things can go wrong.

I agree with the above, why would you want to put their account at risk?

Would not risk the account either - call them and ask to raise the selling limits, if everything is legit they will raise it.

Question to other forum members: when linking my ebay account to an established seller account how high will my limits be raised?

No guarantee it will happen.

Did you get any message about being OK to attach an account?
If no message, then big risk of being suspended

I wouldn't consider trying to link the accounts.

A phone call will work much better.

I did that a while ago, it worked on brand new account of mine.

They raised the limits 50% and asked me to call back in a month. He said if I keep what I am doing, they will increase it again. I never bothered to call again, they keep increasing the limits very slowly.
