Selling LIMITS but NO PAYPAL HOLDS?

Hey guys - so I have a $5000 selling limit on my account when it was opened. Sold an Item over $300 and paypal did NOT hold the funds! Sold another 3 more items of high value and still NO HOLD. All my other accounts have holds but wondering why this account doesnt! Can anyone explain, I am just curious and being careful. Thanks

some do some dont. i wouldnt be getting too excited tho selling those high ticket items. you are bound to be kicked soon if you sell too much too expensive too fast...

take it slow.

its the key to success here. find some cheaper things to sell. if you want to make it last on here start slow and sell cheap items. slowly throw expensive items in there after a month or 2.

Very lucky.

Do not abuse it or it will go down quickly.

Youll be saying goodbye to that account soon keep selling high end items, especially if your also draining the PP after 1 - 2 days

Actually, to play it safe, I just left all the money in my paypal account. Kind of treating it like savings account now haha

I would treat this pp very carefully and not drain it out, however, I wouldn't trust pp to leave it all in either. Think smart & good luck

I would say maybe leave $100 or so in the PP account, If it does go down at least it isn't a ton in there. Good luck, your very lucky.

Take care of the account.

Consider yourself lucky seems to be the consensus.

did you do anything different to that one account that doesnt get holds?

newjerseymax 01-16-2012 05:56 PM

Maybe the address used is that of someone else with a account in excellent standing?

lasvegas 01-17-2012 06:24 AM

I just thought of a name, used a random address locally, used pre paid phone #. Waited 1 month and sold over 4 items now with no holds at all. These are top dollar items too

FandangoKango 01-17-2012 07:15 AM

Just wait. It really also depends on the category your selling in sometimes.

Sandy D 01-18-2012 11:41 PM

It has been reported by many different people here of accounts with no holds.

No one really knows the answer totally. I believe it is a combination of several things.

I have had a few myself but nothing I did different then I always do. I compared these to newer like accounts, older accounts etc and did not see anything that would get no limits.

Then again if anyone knew I would suggest not posting in online as pp is lurking and it would be stopped in 24 hours or less.

When I started selling, I had a 21 day hold put in place after a few days 1.5 months ago. Then they removed it after 2 weeks. Then about 1.5 weeks ago they put it back in place.

Then a PayPal lady called me wanting to verify transactions on my account. Probably because I had sold some electronics. I still have a 21 day hold tho...not a big deal because the funds normally are released in under a week tops.

How do you withdraw funds if you used a random name?

Had quite a few accounts like yours. They are gone now as was selling too many items too quickly , even average value was only around 40usd.
Dont rush the tings if you want to safe your account

if he's not doing anything bad to the money in his paypal account, i dont see what the problem would be there...

You are absolutely right if PP was a bank which they are not :nono:
You never know what tiny mistake can get you into trouble AKA limitation, then it is YOU who has to chase after YOUR money and maybe you will get it.
Just my opinion :typing:

Do you really think PP limit users ONLY because they are doing or did something bad??!!!
PP limit whoever they want, for "MOST of the times" silly reasons..

By the way did you do anything bad to your previous PP, otherwise why you are here.

rsot 01-24-2012 12:50 PM

@lasvegas, did you verify your pp right away when creating?

lasvegas 01-24-2012 06:00 PM

good question RSOT... Actually I didnt... i verified it after 2-3 months after opening it.. hmmmm... maybe that is a good thing...

Sandy D 01-31-2012 04:47 PM

I am finding out that if you start the pp account and let it age then open a buyers account, buy a few things to get some feedback and then go to a sellers account over time I get way higher selling limits and some with no holds.

I know many do not want to wait it out but I looked at it this way. If I can start a pp account today and then verify it, let is sit for a month, buy a couple things here and there, put things on the watch list etc and then around 2 months or more add the seller account I do better then listing one item and waiting 90 days to get limits lifted.

The other issue I am having is getting to 25 fb and 90 days and see the limits rise a lot and the pp holds go away. ( on other accounts unlike the above) Then list to the selling limits to only see the pp holds come right back on again.
