Item seems like its lost in the post will payment get reversed?
 

I sent a item to the USA and used royal mail but i didnt get the international signed for postage as it was gonna cost way more than the amount i had put down on the items postage costs so i used the normal airmail small packet service. I might be knackered tho becuase i have international signed for as the postage for international buyers but it was gonna cost me £10 more than i put to post in to USA that way.

I have the proof off postage but no tracking number. What will happen if the buyer opens a non receipt case in ebay / paypal.

No tracking number? Chances are very good that you would lose and owe money =(

NO tracking number just receipt.

If a case gets opened, you will have to refund the buyer and then it is up to you to try and claim against Royal Mail.

Work with the buyer and avoid a case being opened.

Refund him, then open a claim with the RM.
