What To say to eBay about BIRTHDAY YEAR CHANGE
 

I have an account REAL NAME and put wrong year on the birth year. When I call ebay what should I say exactly? Kind of scared LOL

Do you think they will require DOCUMENTS?

Do you know the year you used when you made your eBay account?

Or are you asking because you don't remember the year?

AND: My main question is... Why are you going to call eBay?

They used to do it with no questions asked almost instantly over Live Chat by asking some simple verification questions that are account related. Not sure how easy it is to still do it over the phone, but I reckon it isn't that hard as long as your excuse is feasible.

What used to be easy with them, is not... However,I would chat with them if I were you acting as normal and easygoing as can be :)

if you have proof of ID " just in case " I suggest to call them

Why do you need to change the year?

I did it on the UK live chat no so long ago... I said that when I originally signed up I was wary about giving real details due to being worried about fraud. I just made out like I was a total technology dunderhead, they didn't give me any troubles at all.

I just need to call to change the birthday year from 1965 to 1955...simple change and more of an accident. The account is ALL real info... not stealth...

I mean I was able to sell like over 40 transactions with HIGH values of over $1000 each and I am now out of the 21 day payment holds... so should I be worried about it?

My account went from 5k to the $6500 limit.. and have all positive FB

When they do ask for docs be up front and tell them when you made the account you made a mistake in this area and tried to change it.

Then ask them if they can correct your mistake for you as you have tried to fix the mistake.

I have done this and told them I put in my DH or DWs dob instead of mine and is has worked.
