zero feedback fresh noob bidders.

Every so often I get these 0 feedback bidders jumping on my stuff and aggressivly bidding, I check them out and normally they have just opened the account the day before.

I normally try to cut them some slack after the auction ends cause im sure they don't know the ropes etc etc etc. Sometimes they don't pay... sometimes they do but it takes a few days.

but when they are bidding on high-ish ticket items.. and they win.... and they don't pay.

thats a real kick in the crotch for your selling cycle, and this is what I was thinking about tonight.. i've got to wait till i can report, wait till it clears and im off the hook for fees, then relist, then sell, then ship....then the funds hold.

That can really screw your selling cycle up if it happens to much.... would some under handed seller / compeitior actually DO this to someone else on PURPOSE?

i cancel their bids and then block them. if i have to, ill end the auction, block them, and then re list. this is esp true on high ticket items

It has been known to happen. I'd follow the advise above to remedy for now.:nerd:

Try to avoid being naive.

Almost a given a competitor could do that

For future listings re-arrange payment.
State that bidders with less than 5 bids just contact you b4 bidding.

As they hold you, then control their power :pop2:

well son of a ...............

i'll be blocking and banning 0 feedback bidders from here on out!

does ebay get pissy if you cancel bids to much? :boink:

but really, like we don't have enough stuff to deal with competing fair and square to have to deal with some under handed people on top of that :smash:

That's the next part of the rubbish.

Yep ebay can get annoyed.

And it's a seller like you that gets zapped by dear old ebay :croc:

For your next listings re-do your requirements. Protect yourself. Dont rely on ebay:shhh:

on one of my accounts i sell nothing but items $200+ always having to block 0 feedback users that just signed up even though i clearly state in the auction 0 feedback new sign up please contact me they still bid and try to win one of them got through and won the auction never paid i called the number he had listed the number was a number he pulled out of the phone book and the address said they had never heard of the person who won the auction so it was obviously a competitor

kind of stupid ebay gets annoyed....these types of people are screwing the seller AND EBAY TOO!

all of the above noted! i'll start tighting down those buyer requirements.

But I have noticed you can't block 0 feedback buyers... and I have tried to put some verbage in my auction about 0 feedback buyers and that triggerd some kind of no-no warning and I had to remove it before my listing would go live. Maybe I worded it wrong.

hackteck 02-08-2012 07:47 AM

when i say block them i mean you have to physically block their userid when you see them bidding its time consuming but you have to stay on top of it

golden_monkey 02-08-2012 09:25 AM

yes im already familar with the block list and adding users to it.

they don't make it easy to find but yes I already use it... just looks like im stepping up who I use it on. :typing:
