Is it just me or is there a error with ebay?

Noticed this last night that when i make a sellers account i choses paypal to pay my fees and it comes up with this error everytime

(Sorry! We're currently experiencing technical difficulties and are unable to complete the process at this time.)

I tried again this morn same error as before. It works when u pick pay by creditcard but it wont work by useing Pp

meVebay 02-28-2012 10:57 AM

I'm getting the exact same message on the .co.uk site when trying to lift selling limits.

Guess they are changing something...sure it won't be good though!

doughboykilla 02-28-2012 11:03 AM

yeah its going suck if there make it where we cant use pp to pay are fee's that would be a stupid move on ebays part cause thats the easiest way to pay fees.

Killuminati 02-28-2012 11:06 AM

I was trying to log on to ebay yesterday but it would'nt.

rsot 02-28-2012 11:18 AM

Temporary glitch I am sure.

Sandy D 02-28-2012 11:19 AM

I made a couple of accounts yesterday and did not get this message.

doughboykilla 02-28-2012 11:26 AM

it was at around 11pm last night when i first noticed it. I thought maybe it was the account so i tried again this morn making them with new pop3 emails and such and still getting the same error.

I doubt that will change as using p/p gives them access to funds regardless of whether thay are available or not.

They get their fees from p/p regardless and then p/p come after your bank or cc for settlement as we all know.

Win win situation for e/b so they won't tinker with it.

jeffweico 02-28-2012 11:55 AM

I think it has to be a glitch. The first rule of ANY online business is to make it as easy as possible for your customers to pay you. If eBay would not accept payments from PayPal for their fees, it could mean lots of delinquencies.

Then again, this IS EBAY we are talking about, so who knows?

seanws30 02-28-2012 12:07 PM

would be kind of ironic for ebay to in a round a bout way require paypal for us to get paid, but then not allow us to use paypal to pay them.

nothing with this company surprises me anymore tho

bansheezone 02-28-2012 12:39 PM

Happened to me this week a few times also, but not an issue now.

Hamid2k10 02-28-2012 01:04 PM

getting this same error all day thank god its not just me tried different ip and that

penpolo 02-28-2012 03:22 PM

I got the same problem here
Trying to get a seller account, cannot choose paypal as autopayment method: (Sorry! We're currently experiencing technical difficulties and are unable to complete the process at this time.)

Start from 2-27 7:30pm, pacific time. Tried 3 times on 2-27 night, no luck. Tried again this morning, same thing. Called ebay to get help, no help at all. Just tried another time 10 min ago, same problem.

Any update?

Thank you guys!

For me it says:

"Error - Unable to process the request. Unexpected error occurred."

If they got rid of PayPal, there wouldn't be an error, there would be a message stating just that. Plus, they would have announced it as it would affect thousands if not millions of sellers. It's a technical error of the connection between eBay and PayPal. These things happen.

BigCJ 02-28-2012 04:49 PM

same, tried to list an auction on a new account and got the error. I hope they resolve this soon

imjustme 02-28-2012 04:53 PM

For me, it's happening on the step where it connects to arbd.ebay.com which is then supposed to redirect to PayPal. My guess it's that there's a technical problem at the server that processes that request step.

rsot 02-28-2012 04:54 PM

Rest of PP functions work well?

imjustme 02-28-2012 05:05 PM

I can set-up the reimbursement method as PayPal without problems, just not the automated payment method. It's likely just a technical glitch. eBay pushing everyone to accept PayPal and then themselves not accepting PayPal wouldn't make sense.

doughboykilla 02-28-2012 05:13 PM

ok phew so its not just on my end. I tried a little bit ago still not working hope they get it fixed soon cause i got account orders that are needing to be done.

penpolo 02-28-2012 05:17 PM

I am using banks to verify my PayPal, then use PayPal as auto payment method to sell on eBay. So, if this situation continues, I cannot sell anything, right? Is there any other way to bypass this?

lakeman 02-28-2012 08:50 PM

Just made an account 5 minutes ago and linked the pp, no errors. :noidea: Must be fixed?
