- - Selling limits??
Selling limits?? So I made a stealth account week ago. I have less then 5 feedbacks. Decided today to list my first item. As soon as I listed it I got the message that you can now list 9 more items in a month. So in other words I can list 9 more items till April 30. Are you ---- kidding me? Why such a limit? Correct me if i'm wrong. But I don't remember any limit when I started selling 6 years ago.
Why such a limit? In order to lift limit they want contact info and bs...
Will this limit ever be lifted by it self??
!!!

Do you have a verified Paypal attached to the account? What were the limits before you tried to sell? |
| Sandy D | 03-30-2012 11:22 PM | 99% of all new accounts get the avg of 10 items and 1000.
After time you will be reviewed and the numbers will move if you did well.
It is the way things work today.
If I had known what I know today 6 years ago I would be like BluntzCASH and be a gazillionaire. |

I guess I should just do what they say.But I hope they don't come after me asking for more info to lift limits. I sell used video games. That's all I sell. Sometimes new games. I hope they lift it as time goes by without asking me for additional info. |
| Sandy D | 03-31-2012 11:31 AM | At some point you will be asked for something.
I only have a few accounts that have never been asked for anything and I have a lot of accounts.
When you get the limits lifted and start selling more you will be asked for docs etc in most cases.
Be prepared. |

Be prepared. | I got the limits lifted mins ago. My question is will they ask me for info even though I don't sell vero items or anything.
All I sell is used video games and new videos games sometimes. That's all I sell. Will they keep eye on a guy like me? I was suspended because I was selling a digital code. But I won't be doing that anymore. I only sell used and new video games to make profit sometimes. |
| baloch | 03-31-2012 01:01 PM | azil unless you are making a quite a bit of income from selling on ebay then It is most likely you won't get the docs' request.
The type of items such as used video games should be no problem. As I sold used ps3 games for a while until my supplier went dead.

I hope in 6yrs from now we will be saying thank godness we started when we did...
Since 2005 I have spent 250k only on medical issues... If it was not for online sales I could possibly not exist right now.
OP.... you need to open more accounts and spread you sales. Open 10 accounts and that is 100 to start with. Open more as needed. As they raise limits keep extras already created and running as back-ups. |
| bansheezone | 03-31-2012 03:05 PM | Yep all new Stealth's that I have been making get 10/1000.
Hey MAX did you try my trick to get a higher seller limit? |
| jamblix | 03-31-2012 08:23 PM | What trick? Share it with us! |
| Ballsack | 04-01-2012 02:49 AM | I've been stuck at $1900 and 70 items for two straight months so you will reach a point where they simply won't let you go any higher. I don't know what a third month or more stuck at this limit will result in, but I suspect it'll be the same. Total BS. |
| wilburnet | 04-01-2012 04:47 AM | Persevere Ballsack and co , after 4 months my selling limit increased from 100 items but i done know what to but it must be to about 500 items , i never rang or anything to check |
@azil, this is a common situation on eb and has been discussed a lot around here. You are getting good advice from the other posters. |
| cortex | 04-01-2012 11:29 AM | Good thread guys.
since ebay started this new pincode malarky im not sure if anyone has waited out the 3 months to see if it automatically raises from 10items/month to 100items/month when you have a fully verified ppal account.
Has anyone here been through the 3 months yet to see if the selling limit gets automatically raised?
I will find out on 25th April for one of my accounts but would be nice to know if anyone has already got to the 3month stage. |
| bansheezone | 04-01-2012 11:45 AM | Its random now, when this new change came about you could get bumped up after a month if you received positive feedback with 5 star DSR's. Now just because you hit 90 days does not mean your limits are getting lifted.
You need to build up these accounts, buy feedback get at least up to 100 prior to the 90 days just from buying crap, sell up to your limits (very important), and most important get those DSR ratings.
Also try the questions test, I winged them a few times and actually passed. Other then that patience it will come with time. |

5 star DSR is near impossible - ive never seen a single seller with all 5's..maybe some 5's and some 4.9's ive seen a lot of but all 5's?!
And to get 100 FB from buying?...someone at that stealth address is either going to be very happy or very mad. What if they call up ebay ??
What is the Question Test??? |
| bansheezone | 04-01-2012 12:34 PM | you don't have to get 5 star dsr's but you should at least avoid 1 and 2's, having 4.8 across the board should be standard if you want to earn money on eBay. I aim for TRS status on my accounts, all of them gets stores also to save on fee's.
I have 5 stars on 4 accounts that I am mainly selling on. I buy cheap $1.00 items, so figure $100.00 investment to get 100 fb's over the 90 day period.
Also if you have your stealth made correctly you should be able to get packages to the address on the account, what if someone wants to return a package? I am sure some just go totally bogus but I don't think that would be a good idea I mean what if eBay starts doing the UK thing and sends a letter to confirm the account?
The question test is when your asked to confirm identity when requesting raised limits. |

I like to add a AVS VCC to eBay and not go through Paypal to set up a seller account. Also build the Paypal separately then combine, so Paypal is fully verified on its own, same with the eBay account. Upon a sale they will now be linked with the first Payment you receive. |
| cortex | 04-01-2012 12:54 PM | okie doke..thanks for informing us.
last time i did the raise limit thing they only asked my name and DOB...guess i was lucky but i have all the questions/answers saved on a excel spreadsheet.
can you tell me about this "Also if you have your stealth made correctly you should be able to get packages to the address on the account, what if someone wants to return a package?"
sometimes i buy cheap stuff from china and tell them not to send it, just leave FB ;-) |
| bansheezone | 04-01-2012 01:27 PM | Just set up a p.o to have things shipped to, the registered address is the regi address know what I mean. |
| cortex | 04-01-2012 02:31 PM | ^^ ahh ok...thought u had a different way. Thanks :peace: |

Goodluck | Agreed!
But you must be prepared for any account asking for docs or a variety of other things. |
| cortex | 04-01-2012 04:16 PM | Always have everything prepared. Docs, invoices, security questions etc etc.
Everything should be organised and ready. They will ask for docs at some point. |
Mine has lifted and I'm barely week old. I went to "lift my selling limits" the page took me to paypal where I signed in and once I logged in my limits lifted and now I can sell 100 items per month. I'm ok with 100 per month. |

How old is your ebay account?
How old is your paypal account?
Do you have the 1900 limit on your paypal account?
Pardon the questions...we are all trying to look for patterns :-) |

Pardon the questions...we are all trying to look for patterns :-) | My PP account is a Premier account.
My ebay and paypal account are 1 week old.
What do you mean by 1900 limit on paypal account? As far as I know I have no limit at all on paypal. All limits are lifted. |

| lightmaria | 04-01-2012 09:08 PM | On how many accs have you tried that on? And does it only work if your paypal acc is premier or do you think that doesnt matter? |
| Gamefreak | 04-01-2012 09:35 PM | These limits are a total B!TCH! Cant sell anything |

| ebiteme | 04-03-2012 07:30 AM | Classifieds VS Auction type- Is there a difference for what brings more attention to your account for this limiting problem? I was using all Classifieds(4-6) with 1 or 2 auctions mixed in, and then I went up to 8 classifieds and 4 auctions before I was limited.
Any idea if one counts and the other doesn't?
This was on .co.uk site.
I'm absolutely happy to use classifieds only... | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 03:02 AM. | |
