I created a new account and it has a $500 selling limit?

I thought the minimum selling limit they did for new accounts was $1000, but now $500? I don't sell on eBay that much so I don't really keep up to date on this stuff. Last night I made an account it has 10 items or $1000 dollar limit, this morning I decided to create a 2nd account and it has 10 items or $500 dollar limit??? I am doing two ebay accounts per 1 paypal account, same information across the board.

sleepyboyz 04-11-2012 03:58 PM

it's ebay, they do whatever they like

wizardhat 04-11-2012 04:03 PM

And I just created a whole new eBay account with new stealth information and it has a selling limits of $1000 or 10 items. Lol what the heck?

Ballsack 04-11-2012 04:37 PM

Eventually, the limit will be down to 10 items and $10.

If you create 2nd ebay account with same info then limits are split between accounts. Chances are you now have a 5 item $500 monthly limit on each ebay account... You cant get higher limits using 2 ebay accounts. They know whats going on.

MM78 04-11-2012 11:23 PM

Soon their just gonna give you "Ebay Credit" not real money. You can see the money in the paypal account, you just can't get it.

Suggest you change that game plan at once.

Not knowing could damage an account:typing:

jbluntz 04-12-2012 03:31 AM

Alot of accounts now have $500 limits as well as $1000, it's random, but you can still sell more than the limit as long as your starting bid is below the limit.

Example: 10 items starting bid $50 each = $500

Final selling price $250 each = $2500

rsot 04-12-2012 05:50 AM

But be aware that a new pp receiving too much money could be hit with limitation.

jbluntz 04-12-2012 06:03 AM

True, that can happen on occasion. Here's another example if you have a high ticket item to sell on a new account, you sell 9 lower priced items to get the account established then list the high ticket item at a starting bid of whatever your remaining limit is.

Sandy D 04-13-2012 10:28 PM

I created 3 accounts today.

500 limit
1000 limit
no limit

yotano211 04-14-2012 12:44 AM

I made 3 accounts today with the $500 limit, I made 3 on Wednesday with 2 $1k and 1 with 500 limit. It seems more accounts are coming to me with 500 limits then ever before.

jbluntz 04-14-2012 12:46 AM

Yep, that's how it goes with me to, accounts with no limits are like 4 leaf clovers.

Iwuvcurrency 04-14-2012 11:14 AM

I also made one today and it got hit with the $500 10 item limit. urrgh. lol but thats why u just have mulitple.

Some countries already have a $250 / 5 item limit. No joke.

Elijah 04-14-2012 12:55 PM

All my new accounts in the UK have the 5 item limit. Just pathetic.

StealthAssassin 04-15-2012 10:45 AM

I have made 6 accounts recently. Four of which had the $500 limit, one had a $0 limit somehow, and one had NO limit.

It is becoming harder and harder to even get a 1k limit account.....smh

I took a break from making accounts for about a month because I have about 80 aging....but this new common $500 limit somewhat caught me off guard. Always something new with ebay

:eek::eek::eek: Whats countries are these??:shocked::shocked:

rsot 04-15-2012 11:01 AM

That's crazy - what a low level to start with.

mrkurei 04-15-2012 10:04 PM

What 's items you sell?

Iwuvcurrency 04-15-2012 10:40 PM

Does it matter what type of product you list as your first item?? Like will higher risk items flag the limit?

jbluntz 04-15-2012 10:46 PM

They have category limits as well, some items you can only sell once a month.

Exactly why I am making accounts as fast as I can. Next thing they will have 5/100.

The dirty rats are really playing to the big sellers by doing this. Squeezing out the little guy is what they are trying to do.

StealthAssassin 04-18-2012 02:01 AM

Just made 3 more selling accounts and all were 10/500. I haven't seen a 10/1000 account in the last 10 or so accounts I have made. All I can continue to do is stockpile them and let them age.

jbluntz 04-18-2012 02:33 AM

Same here, more and more are showing up with 10/500 limits.

yotano211 04-18-2012 03:36 AM

Oh wow, I thought it was me. I made 6 accounts in one day a few days ago and all of them have the same limits 10/$500. I thought I doing something wrong. Now I know its just normal.

They are either making the new sellers list auction type listings (more profit for them) vs fix priced or their servers are getting full with info. I had to rethink the way I list things now.

If jbluntz says he is seeing more 10/500 accounts then I'm taking his word for it.

Sandy D 04-18-2012 08:29 AM

Making more accounts all 500 except for one.

BluntzCASH has a million accounts with no limits, hey BCash, can we borrow some of your golden accounts for a while? pleeeeese.

rsot 04-18-2012 08:54 AM

Ha "Borrow" - you might notice the moniker "Cash" in BluntzCASH as you call him =P

See my post... it applies in the UK now too.

newjerseymax 04-18-2012 04:49 PM

Yea this is scary! I need to get to creating accounts asap.... Wont be long before every account needs to be verified by telephone call....

mercurial333 04-19-2012 01:41 AM

Maybe they do this also to encourage auction style listings.

yotano211 04-19-2012 02:08 AM

auction type does have more fees but most of the time it sells for less.
