I need to vent an add a case of extortion to the files here...

I sold an Item, Actually a lot of 8 sports autographed items. One of the items was an autographed baseball certified by PSA/DNA, In the auction I placed a close up of each item. My description was a list of what was included. The condition of items were left out because of my pictures I took. The baseball signature had bled into the ball so it was not perfect, but the picture of the item was clear enough and close enough to see what you were buying.

This buyer wins the lot of 8 items for $400.00, the lot broken down will sell for $600+ (trying to clear out inventory quickly), He recieves the items two days after he pays and emails me that I mislead him on the baseball. He says I did not state the ball was "not" in mint condition. I asked him 2 questions-Did I state the ball was in mint condition? he answered NO, Does the ball look exactly like I pictured? he answered YES. He then goes onto say he expected to sell this item for $25.00-$35.00 dollars and that he doesn't believe he can, so I need to reimburse for his loss by either sending him cash or an item equal to what he expected to get. (yes, he is serious and no he didn't want to exchange the ball he just wanted me to send him something to compensate him for his possible loss). He also made sure to mention that he wants to avoid giving me negative feedback for this simple dispute over $30.00, so I should comply immediately to him and ship his compensation tomorrow. Problem is I don't want negative feedback, because on this account I barely have any, so I compromise a deal with him that he is to sell the item, and if it sells less than what he expected for it (minimum $25.00) I would send him the difference either cash or another item. It sold for $13.00(he took terrible pictures, you couldn't see the signature, he described it incorrectly and everything else to make sure it didn't sell, Regardless, I emailed him and said I would ship his item soon or the cash of $12.00 whatever he orefers. He than emails me and says he wants $17.00, I fowarded our agreement to him as maybe he forgot, then he replies, he wants $20.00 and the feedback on the entire trandsaction rests on how I handle the situation. At this point I email him and let him know how I feel (my email was strong but nice), I also told him to be through with him and this deal I would ship him a $20.00 item, all to avoid the negative feedback. He replies ok when I recieve my item, I will withdraw the negative feedback I just left for you.

maybe I am wrong to do this, but Right now I am not sure what to do , he is selling 20 items and I think I am going to call on some friends to buy them all. He has a perfect 100% feedback rating that ebay has banned me from responding to. So I think he will need 20 negatives from 20 different buyers.

I do like the idea of calling hookers and escorts everyday to his house, maybe I will do both.

Forward the emails to ebay. Include the header if you have it. The header tells who sent the email and where it came from etc. Then there is a link on ebay where you can argue to ebay about the negative feedback. They will review it and if they believe you, will remove it. The link is hard to find, sorry I don't have it.

I came upon it when I left a buyer postitive feedback first with a low feedback account with the hope they inturn will give me a positive. However, my feedback was like "Thanks for purchasing my programs!!! Great ebayer!" He gave me a negative because of this because he didn't want me to advertise in his feedback and even called me a dumbass because feedback is for feedback and not advertising.

So after intensive search I found I could dispute the negative but it was too late, as time had expired. I think it was 30 limit. Good luck.

Take the negative feedback, leave one for him and move on.

basically you are at the mercy of the buyers, and if you don't do exactly as they tell you, you will receive a negative. even then you may still get one. i would refund him, and be as nice i could with the idiot. in the long run it will work out better for you. i know it's tough to swallow, but it's beter than getting too many negs, and then getting suspended.

if I give in, how many more people is he going to do this to. Unfortunately I cannot email ebay. Even though my items are legit and certified, I have had too many issues in the past and do not want to call attention to this account. I also don't think they will do anything as it probably falls under the " I don't give a ****" policy which I have been informed is their # 1 policy. He will remove the feedback, but not because he is going to get his demands, but because he screwed with the wrong person and have already called on friends who are currently buying his items and will start leaving negative feedback for him on his 500+ star account that has no negatives. Funny thing, since the new rule started he has left 4 negative feedbacks, before the new rule started he left 0 negative feedbacks. The problem is he got greedy in his demands. The original agreement was the difference of the selling price and $25, which was $12, then he demanded $17, when I said no, he demanded $20, when I said ok fine I will send him a 8x10, just to leave me alone, he said fine and left negative feedback anyway and said he would remove it once he got his item. We do not need buyers like this. Ebay could care less about sellers, because without buyers ebay would not exist. That is why no other site works. So we as sellers need to protect ourselves and other fellow sellers from scum buyers like this guy.

HI:
Im not familiar with sports memorobilia..But 1 thing i do, is NOT shipped combined items.
For the obvious reason-they cant scam me and say-I only recd 1, when you shipped 4,

But- I also explain in my ad, ex: Buy 1- Glass Vase.shipping is say $8.00, for each additional it is another $4, so if you want 20, its 19x4, + the initial $8..

I tell them this is to avoid wholesalers wanting the 99 cent items, and taking 40 or 50 of them.
These are meant for the public..
SO:
maybe you can use a variation of this?? Or something similar to keep wholesalers away/other sellers??
just a thought.

I have a solution that may work. Well not a solution but a revenge thing. Go to ebay hong kong. "http://www.ebay.com.hk" it will be in chinese but there is an english button. Then register 5 ⊗⊗⊗⊗ accounts. Ok, log out of ebay hong kong and go to ebay america. Find his auctions, buy or bid on all of them. Or you can use 2 accounts and outbid yourself on one of his auctions to like 1million dollars or something. This will leave him with a big fate final value fee. :D

I say ebay hong kong, because they don't have such strict verification policies. ebay is trying to break into the chinese market currently being dominated by taobao.com. Therefore they are letting alot of stuff side.

I don't know. But I found out you can register in English and in the US too. Just make a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ US address.

Click on register. On the drop down menu where it says "Country or Region" choose the last one in the list. It means foreign countries. Then it will take you to another page with a list of countries. Choose the 2nd one. It says America. This will take you to an all english page but you are still registering in thru Hong Kong ebay.

Make sure the zip code matches the city you type. I typed in Santa Monica and had to find the real zip code.

Then you have to active your account. They will send you an email. Use a disposible email account. I used pookmail.com. Then just click on the activation link.

There is no OTHER VERIFICATIONS!!!! Wow.

Proof. Check user ID *jlee980*

I just made an account with them.

This would only work if the PITA Buyer is also a Seller on eBay, if he is then I would give him hell.

Good point. I may get a simons card. That is the only requirement that I've found if you registered thru hong kong ebay. No calling you or whatever.

exclusive, I imagine so. ebay hong kong doesn't care, for now at least because they want to attract more people. But ebay hk is dead.

Try. The listings are FREE. Yes free. Also listing upgrades are ridiculously cheap. I added a feature listing on there which was $15 on ebay but like $2 on ebay hk. Thing is paypal isn't used much there and slow traffic. You can also try ebay phillipines since phillipine people speak english and ebay.ph is in english. There is more traffic there. But they use their own payment system and almost no one has paypal.
