If your selling the same items over and over the excel works great

but becareful you dont do your tax returns and not account for returned or credited items

I think its best to do daily or weekly print outs rather than running totals

That way if you religiously add the sales on the date of payment, its very easy to look back through your records and correct mistakes etc

even if your just monitoring profits

You never know you might notice interesting market trends (like everyone who buys on a friday sends stuff back etc)

I use Outright.com and an order management software. Keeps awesome track of tax info, daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly expenses/profits and percentages.

This is what mine looks like. Except I separate by website and input item number. I want to see how much each item sells at each venue... Amazon will almost always make more then ebay. However ebay I can sell quanity faster because auction listings are guaranteed sells, yet lower amounts. Its a fine balance.

Definitely also good to separate by venue. Can also make a new book with the same template.

I use a custom-built web-application for this purpose. It automatically grabs sales data from eBay Api and places it all into one page. Works great. I will be starting a thread here soon for it. Thanks,

I will not be charging a king's ransom for it, that's the whole purpose of my development. Offer cheap but best solutions to ebay sellers. I will be maintaining a mini-fee per month basis and ofcourse I will offer free first month for a few people, it's not a problem. :)
