Just as the title says:
This is a small guide for newbies and people who want to sell electronics or any items over a certain dollar amount on ebay or paypal.
All too often, people come to the forum talking about how new ebay members (or even older/more experienced members) have screwed them out of hard earned dollars.
While this is not to be set in stone, it will help the people here to learn what to do in time of buyer crisis (as well as to keep GB from pulling out more hair :thumb:)
If you are selling a high priced item, get all and any info you can about it (obviously)
Let say you sell electronics that are refurbished from Apple: An apple macbook pro
What you should do:
1. Write down and check the serial number to ensure its legit.
(Just an example)

If possible, look for other Identification numbers that you can add to the list and store it for safety (try not to give the buyer both/more serial numbers in case they try to make a switch. One should suffice)
(Why shouldnt I put both/all numbers?) Because you do not want the person to get the item, switch ALL numbers then claim that its a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ or trade for another less valued model. If they switch the one number, you have evidence against them to do as you need to get your money back.
2. TAKE PICTURES of your items AT ALL ANGLES! Left, right, up, down, heck, even inside out if you can. This might not help with ebay or paypal dispute, if you need to get the law involved, this is part of your evidence. You always hold a few images back for yourself. Again, evidence.
Also, if you can, make a small video recording of the item working and doing what it should do. If you cannot make the video, take a series of pictures of the item in working mode.
3. Anything over $150 (some people do it at 250), you SHOULD get signature conformation for. You should be doing this to protect yourself. It costs an extra 3 bucks, but it should be for your piece of mind it should be worth saving your account.
4. What MIGHT help you win a paypal dispute: When you get a sale, there is usually SELLER protection (you may have to search for it on the page) And it will tell you this once you check your order.
It is usually in bold lettering just as it is with buyer protection

Here is the most important part: TAKE A SCREENCAP OF THE SELLER PROTECTION ON YOUR PAYPAL PAGE!
Why? Because in time of a dispute where I have all of my evidence, I have seen this logo DISAPPEAR from my page even though I KNOW I was covered and would LOSE the dispute because I had no other proof that paypal/ebay deemed exceptable.
The 2nd time it happened, I started taking screencaps once high ticket items were sold. I won a lot more disputes once that happened. And while you wont win them all, this will hopefully help you out.
