Get higher selling limits by "confirming that I already have an established account"?

My 1 feedback eBay account is several months old and I REALLY need to sell on it.

The limit is currently 10 items/$500 total per month.

I went to request higher selling limits and it gave me 2 options..

One was to call them, and the other was to "Confirm that you already have an established seller account" - Can I do that? Or would it be bad?

The established account I have in mind is [unfortunately] already linked to it anyway. (Same name & address...This was before I found out about eBay Stealth..which I don't have the time to do now so please don't suggest that. Just reading the Stealth guide stresses me out)

GreenBean 06-30-2012 06:44 AM

We dont spoonfed.

Our time is just as valuable as yours.

Rude to think otherwise.

If the other account meets the needs it could be done.

BUT you might end up having your limits reduced over the two accounts.

Start using the account more in a slow manner & increase the amount you sell.

It's well documented about the advantages of selling to your limits.

Funniest post I've read in a while. You could have read the stealth guide in the time it took to post this thread.

I have the answer for you but I'm afraid I don't have the time to deal with it right now

Ebayorbust 06-30-2012 12:01 PM

OP, best advice would be to get the stealth guide. :p

It seems that he has purchased it already but does not want to read it, even though he would likely find the time that he spent reading it and learning new things worth it, and that it was a decent trade off for the small amount of time spent. You can lead a horse to water...

Sorry, next time I should take note that half the people on here are condescending ass)holes.

a little harsh on the extremely good and helpful people on here

but to answer your question, i use the confirm with an established account to raise limits

it works if you do it RIGHT

thats all i can say here

Sorry if I had the time I would rip you a new one for being so demanding.

I take this to heart as I spend no less then 12 hour a day EVERYDAY for more then a year reading this board.

If you do not want to learn or take the time to read a few pages then see ya!

When you grow up and have the time to understand that with some effort you might just be able to build a decent account and then take the time to help others.

Then and only then will you get spoon fed all the work that most of us have spent years learning.

Alright well thank you for answering my question..Still, doesn't give these other people the right to be so condescending to newer users..they were probably at my position at some point. And from what I see, there's nothing in the Stealth Guide that directly addresses my question/concern here, unless I'm blind and you want to tell me what page to look on...Anyone?

But thank you for saying that you have done it before. May I ask what you mean by "if you do it RIGHT"? The "established seller account" I have isn't THAT great..It does, however, qualify as an "established seller account" by eBay's definition (the 1st sale was over 90 days ago) ...it's only flaw is a recent suspension from a feedback violation (which is over now)...But other than that, it is 2 years old and I've sold a legit VeRO item on there before with positive feedback left for it. Again, may I please ask what you mean by "if you do it right"?? I thought the only info I had to provide was my user iD, phone # and zip code for my established account to request higher limits.. The only way I can see "doing it wrong" would be if I used a Stealth account to confirm it..Obviously that would ruin things..But as I've said, these accounts are already linked...So I'd appreciate if you could tell me a little more, if that's possible? Don't see why not..But thanks for your time

If both accounts are already linked then both accounts might equal the 10/$500 limit. I don't really know cuz I dont link accounts together, I just make more and more individually.

If you are worried about low selling limits then start making more accounts. Just the other day my limits were increased on all of my accounts. Some went from 10 to 20, and 1/3 of then went from 20 to 40. I am a happy goose (or any other type of animal). It takes time to get limits increased but it's doable.

And "yes", I do sell up to the limit when I can on all accounts.

I repeat what I said.

Be careful of using your other account to increase your limits.

It's not a given that you will be successful.

doing it right in my opinion would be NOT linking it to an account that has or has had problems before

i have a good account that i sell tomatoes on and i want to diversify and sell potatoes on then thats business and nothing wrong with that in ebays eyes

if one account gets fried then the other will go too (usually though not always)

mcmx 07-01-2012 04:58 PM

Ok thanks for the replies. And GreenBean I got your message, thanks. It's making me thing twice about connecting the accounts. I never realized how strict eBay was until I recently got suspended.

Also - If I post an ad on eBay and the bids go over my $500 selling limit, and then cancel the auction before it ends...Will that count against my selling limit?

I think when the potatoes gets fried are called French fries, or in the good ol US, Freedom fries.

The selling limits you to what you can LIST, but your bids can go over that. It will simply erase your limit for that month. You should never cancel an auction before it ends, unless the item is no longer available or there was an error in the listing.

But to answer your question, when you cancel listings, the starting bid or BIN amount goes back into your limit pool. However once any item sells, it counts against your limit for that month, but you don't have to cancel existing listings, just wait for the next month. In the meantime, open some more Stealth accounts.

If your buyer doesn't pay you don't get the credit toward your limit, which sucks.

Hope that info helps. . Good luck.

Or you might get this from eBay:

We're confirming that your eBay account is no longer associated with the other account xxxxxxxx.

If your newer account is fewer than 90 days old, the new seller hold has been placed back onto the account. This means that access to PayPal funds from eBay transactions may be limited until the buyer leaves positive Feedback or you provide delivery confirmation for those transactions.

eBay defines a new seller account as one that has fewer than 90 days since the first successful sale of an item.

PayPal may also evaluate your account to determine if future payments will be held. You can learn more about PayPal holds by visiting:

Tested on one of my stealth accounts and then got that email a few hours later. None of the eBay accounts involved were suspended!
