I am not going to bother. I just sure hope I can sell it local. I want to get rid of so much stuff.

I have an insane question...why not put them on ebay auction?

Then don't send the item if it doesn't clear, but it is better than sending to an unconfirmed address using paypal from a low low feedback bidder who is having someone else pay and receive the item. Personally, anyone who didn't heed the 2 or 3 red flags in transactions like these need not wonder why they get SNAD'd.

Plus you avoid PP fees and Western Union has higher fees than paypal. But the biggest thing is that people who forge money orders are going to be the first to suggest them so they can use their technology. He did not even usggest that after a month of talks? So how is he going to find a postal money order forger on short notice for under 200 dollars.

No way.

PMO's rock!!

But the rule of thumb sticks: For ANY sale online, the higher the dollar amount, the greater the risk. Welcome to life in the business world.

I don't get this - why is the OP involving Ebay at all

Have the funds transferred into your bank and send the guy the stereo - anything else is a con

:amen:

marlo 07-21-2012 04:24 PM

because I thought this would be the safest way.

He lives in east coast USA.

Plus I want to slowly build up a good eBay account. I have 0 feedback and I have a lot of crap I want to sell. It's not selling local but maybe it will sell online.

I don't get it either! :bored:This is a no brainer. :nono: He amount of red flags would leave me laughing at my computer screen when I heard it. :heh:

I am not sure I would even want to give the guy my bank info.

Cash or PMO for me BABY GT! :humble:

MARLO!!! This is the absolute WRONG way to slowly build up feedback. Start with smalls! Little stuff for under 20 dollars! Stuff you can afford to lose and not have all this hassle. You want cheap shipping and fast fast turnaround!

Sell your small collectibles around the house and take a loss on them if feedback is your main concern. Go to thrift stores, buy up the "new with tag" nicest clothes you can find or any little treasures you can get for .50 cents and pawn them on ebay. But whoever told you to sell a 2000 dollar stereo for the first thing is not one to listen to. this guy probably sees your 0 feedbac and is deliberately playing you because of it.

STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING! :surrender: Think. :ranger:

GrannyT 07-21-2012 04:33 PM

Believe me it aint the safest way - the safest way is the guy pays you and you make sure he gets his stereo.

If you have spare money to give to Ebay and Paypal I will send you my bank details and you can give it to me

Your generosity is appreciated

marlo 07-21-2012 04:41 PM

lol I don't have money to throw around.

I won't go through with the trade. I will keep trying local.

I already have listed a few items on eBay. All are clothes for $20 buyout :thumb:

re-read the OP. there has been communication IN DEPTH for over one month.
MORE than enough time to do what he wants to do .

The would be purchaser is claiming weird things. Your PMO could well be another option.
Nothing rocks with this transaction. Nothing.
End of story.
