Going from old Desk Top to New..question

Hey everyone!

I have purchased a new desk top to replace my 12 year old dinosaur! :bounce:

I want to use a thumb drive to transfer info from old to new.

I also spoke to a very reliable member on the Forum and was relaxed to know that my cookies would transfer along from OLD to NEW PC.

My questions are:

1. Will my IP change?
2. Will my current User accounts transfer over too?
3. And should there be any other concerns for linkage between ebay and paypal when I do decide to tranfer.

ANY, and ALL help, advice, and opinions that would aid me in this process would be extremely greatful!

Thanks as always for your help!

depends what kind of service you've got. if you don't turn your modem/router off though, no.

why not just start from scratch with the user accounts? if you want to transfer the browser data, it's easy enough if you're using Chrome (yes, i know, it apparently leaks data left, right and centre) or Firefox. if you've got all your ebay and paypal account data written/typed down, i'd just start off cleanly.

What OS did you use in the old computer?, and new OS in the new one?

WOW, you still used 12 year old computer, what was in it, a Pentium 3. 12 years ago, I had a Pentium 3 650mhz processor.

Must of been a good computer if it lasted 12 years.

waterproof is a good man :thumb:

Best way to go is to decide which is simplest for you, my friend :)

You were running FF?

you can backup / export cookies and load them on the new computer..... this will just avoid the ebay Q/A time.

If you have everything in order it doens't really matter.... if not, its very important.

No, I never used FF. To be honest, I'm about half scared to open the box on the new. Been Stealth for a 1000 days and don't want to cross the wrong wires.
