- - Fall seller update
( https://www.aspkin.com/forums/ebay-discussion/48970-fall-seller-update.html)
| HurricaneHuntr | 07-24-2012 11:08 AM | Fall seller update Has win all over it, ABOUT TIME open cases don't get counted, and FINALLY the buyer has to message you before opening a case.
That's 2 wins right there,
now... if only leaving a negative or neutral required the buyer to message you first, then i'd be a happy camper |
Giving sellers the right to leave negative or neutral would be awesome... |
| bsg1979 | 07-25-2012 08:11 AM | Love the new updates coming in the fall and I am sure this will prevent a lot of accounts from being suspended. I got an account that was closed because 3 cases were open but they never went against me. I have called 3 times over the past year trying to get reinstated but they won't do it. I think I will call again once the new changes take place... |
| slokor | 07-25-2012 11:14 AM | Its a small step forward after about nine hundred big steps backwards.
Gotta love how Ebay treats the paying costumers - i.e the sellers - like garbage. |
| Gamefreak | 07-25-2012 12:57 PM | Oh man thats freaking AWESOME! If only amazon is taking notes here... |

| stanislav | 07-25-2012 11:38 PM | Can someone please explain to me. I am so confused ... What does it mean - open case? Are we talking about eBay only or Paypal and what do you mean by not getting counted ... |

Basically only because they opened it for no reason it won't go against u. Also only on ebau paypal doesn't have "limits" that u have to achieve(top rated seller status etc) |
| stanislav | 07-26-2012 12:55 AM | Usuaully when someone open case it's through PayPal and then if your Paypal is linked with Ebay. It shows on eBay that you have an open case. Item not as described or item not received etc .. I still don't understand how can we know for sure it's not going to affect us. |
| HurricaneHuntr | 07-27-2012 04:55 PM | they said so, open cases won't affect you. I never have a problem refunding and returns, but i have issues with idiots who open cases before contacting me, which will also be stopped!~ |
| stanislav | 07-28-2012 05:47 PM | I agree. I have had a few people who gave me negative feedback and opened case against me before even trying to resolve the problem. No person forgot to change his address so I sent it to the old address (correct one)so basically he gave me negative feedback and was demanding I would send him anther set ... Yeah right ! |

| diamonda | 07-29-2012 08:43 AM | Wow.... anyone know if this will be rolled out to uk eb too?? |

Yeah right ! | Sadly i've had this happen several times, i either resend or refund them, it's not worth the negative. accounts that are TRS or long standing, it's not worth it |
| tinnt | 08-01-2012 07:41 AM | Hey guys. I have a question:
I am having a problem with a seller regarding an item that I bought recently. I've already opened a case through Ebay, even though I paid with Paypal. The seller sent me a faulty item, and in the description the item is listed as new.
Does anybody know? How long does it take for a response (meaning= a full refund) regarding an item that failed to meet its listing description? days, months...
Thank you. Much appreciated. |
| gtaforever00 | 08-01-2012 10:28 AM | I have also been a victim of open cases and no prior communication. I usually just refund or send another out for the sake of my accounts. If you work out in the retail industry it is the same thing going on, so it is not just Eb. It is just the mindset of buyers in general these days. I am glad eb is giving us a chance to fix the problem first. |
| makaveliagain | 08-06-2012 04:23 AM | Honestly, I didn't read the seller update. Haha, but this is good NEWS! |
| tinnt | 08-07-2012 09:45 AM | Still my question hasn't been answered... the seller didn't send me any item and I'm waiting for eBay or PayPal, since I acquired the good through them, to respond. How long does it take for them to respond back in those cases? Meaning, a full refund for the item I purchased? Has anyone had any experience with that? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

As for your question - they wont do anything because all you did was open a dispute. Now theyre waiting for the seller to respond. When YOU decide to escalate the dispute to costumer service THEN they will respond and most likely in your favor because the seller didnt bother responding. |
| tinnt | 08-08-2012 10:54 AM | Thank you, slokor!
I'll try doing that and see how it goes. |

Thank you. Much appreciated. | This is exactly what people have a problem with on the forum. Did you at least contact the seller to try and work it out , i.e. a simple return and refund transaction? | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 04:51 PM. | |
