Is this new? I emailed buyer from email on ebay?
 

I wrote an email to a buyer and attached their shipping label to show proof of shipment, i forgot to put their email address in the field and replied to the ebay email... low and behold ebay replies back that it failed because it had an attachment.. wtf? Since when could i respond to ebay messages via my email w/o logging in to ebay? Is this new? Did it really work? Did the buyer receive the email when i just resent it w/o the label? Did they receive it via ebay message or via their email? I'm confused

Not new at all. Your reply via email also will appear in your eBay sent message folder. They (buyer) received your reply via eBay message.

I am sure many people will say ebay can see your ip/machine info etc... But the real question is, do they log it? So if i were to check my email account at the library and respond to emails, would 300000 others go down to? Unlikely.

Probably safer to do it via similar used ip though, i guess it never hurts to be safe

I suppose the could see your IP depending on who you use for email. I am under the impression if using gmail they (eBay) will only receive gmail's IP info.

Can anyone verify this information please?
