Default Opening a Non-paid item case lead to limitation?

Whilst selling on ebay, I dont like to open many cases.

However, sometimes buyers leave me no choice but to open an unpaid item case so that I am able to receive my ebay fee back.

Not only that, say if someone wanted to return an item for refund & I open a case accordingly.

Will these opening of cases effect my seller performance? Could this lead to review and limitation on my ebay/paypal account? Is there any particular limit to open cases after which ebay look closely into your account?

Thanks

i use IPR on most of my listings, to avoid any payment problems, but refunding too much customers each month, that is not good for your ebay and specially your paypal account.

This is why many sellers simply offer to send a refund (and add say the tiny paypal fee) from pp to the buyer, instead of opening a case to do so. Say the total of a transaction was £10, instead of asking the buyer to open a case to refund the £10 total, simply sent £10.50 (the 50p extra to cover what paypal will take from the payment, i.e. still aiming to leave the buyer with a refund as close to their original £10 paid as possible) through paypal to the buyer, to avoid the case being opened. it's just sort of common sense procedure..... the more cases are opened (regardless of the legit reasons behind them) the more the account appears risky to eb/pp.

Yes. Any cases on an eBay account (especially new accounts) is bad and they log them and use them against you. As a matter of fact, too many cases on a new account will get your entire selling account banned for good.

I open nonpayment cases all the time and never have had any problems.

If the buyer doesn't pay. In the US it is 4 days until you can file a non paying bidder. Maybe wait 8 days or so give them a little extra time.
