html can be tricky, one missed < and it all comes apart.
'edited to my taste' means to me 'changed something'. try pasting the original template into the E description box unchanged and see if it works, if it does you took out/changed something critical.
if the original template doesn't work the template includes some sort of css or other script that doesn't work in e's system.
if the header and text is showing up and not the outlines and background and fancy text boxes, etc, something probably changed in the nested tables portion of the
you'll have to putter with it to find out what's going on.
The E description box acts as a WYSIWYG editor, I find it's usually easier to paste my original template into there as html, then switch back and forth between the 'basic' and html version to make changes. it's easier to edit and center font, color, background, text, etc in the non-html function because it writes your html code for you perfectly. you can even copy, past, move photos in that state and everything lays out perfectly in the html mode.
