Ever hear of Ebay Returns Project???
 

So this is a new one to me. I already did a Google search and couldn't find anything.

I got a card today in a P.O. Box that I have for my stealth accounts from UPS. The card was addressed to a stealth address that I have mail forwarding on going to the P.O. Box. The card said the shipper was "Ebay Returns Project". I checked the tracking number and it said the package originated out of Loveland, CO. UPS was trying to deliver a package to this street address but the person who lives there said they had no clue who the person was the package came addressed to.

So now UPS want's me to come and pick the package up in person and show ID. Of course that won't happen. So does anybody have an idea what the Ebay Returns Project can be???

Project? Sounds sketch ...like the Projects.

I am thinking maybe it was a customer who just put the Ebay name as the sender?? I've sold over 1000 items on the account this month so no way to go through and look at each individual order to find somebody in Loveland, CO

you were not expecting a return from someone?
i have not used the new return system but wouldn't it show you who printed the label?

I get returns all the time but they go to my P.O. Box. If it was from a customer not sure why it would state that the sender's name was "Ebay Returns Project". Unless there is something new there is no way for a customer to print a label directly from Ebay with my address on it.

well they do have that new return system when you can automatically get returns, the customer logs into ebay and can do it from there and it deducts either your paypal or theirs. i have never dealt with it though so i have no idea what it would say but it kinda makes sense now

If they are going to start letting people print labels for returns then this could be a serious issue for stealth accounts. I have the mail forwarded if it comes by USPS but there is no way to forward a package when it is coming by UPS.

maybe we should move this to another part of the forum... ebay might be trying to get spy-y on us.

i do not think it is an automatic thing. you have to accept to allow customers to be able to do that

I figured it out finally. I had a customer file a Buyer Protection Claim on that account several weeks ago. Ebay closed the case and said that I was not responsible for the refund and no money would be deducted from the account. I looked up the order details on that order and sure enough they were in Loveland, CO. So I guess Ebay lets them print a label to affix to the package.

The weird thing is that nowhere in the case history does it say that they are shipping the package back nor is any tracking number present. Now I wonder where the package will end up since I can't pick it up?? :suspicious:

I would phone UPS that you can not change your ebay address and got a return to an old address and then ask where can you go to pick it up. i don't see any of that as a problem, unless it's stealth name

Could the buyer have just put the eBay Returns project as their return address?

As far as I know, you have to opt-in to the rturns program that automatically prints labels. And for now, at least, it is not mandatory.

Yes it is in a stealth name. They are holding the package down at the local UPS facility for customer pick up. The card states you must show ID when you pick it up.

call the center and say you lost your wallet and see what would be acceptable for id and take it from there
