Paying eBay fees with green dot prepaid card?

Hi all,

I was reading that you should pay your eBay fees with a prepaid card (preferably green dot) and add your stealth info to that card via their website. However, when I read about the card on their website, it says "you will need to provide your social security number and other information." What the heck? Did any of you run into this problem? If so, how should I pay my fees? They were due a few days ago so I need to take care of this ASAP

Use a giftcard not prepaid card. It's also ok to do a one time payment using Paypal if you have the funds.

Is it really? Crap. wish I had known this before I transferred funds :( I thought that was unsafe? Should I still add my personal info to the gift card or does that no matter (and that doesn't sound like it's possible anyways)

EDIT: One more thing - they already tried to charge the card on file and it was denied. Is this bad?

I believe prepaid card is fine.
I doubt they can pull out your SSN and other information from your prepaid card except name and billing address.
Correct me if I am wrong.
