Using Inkfrog to bypass IP address tracking

I am new to the board but have benefited greatly from it so far. I have a question that I have not found on the board:

Can I use a 3rd party listing software (Inkfrog, Magento, Highwire, Auctiva, Kyozou, Channel Advisor etc.) to access ebay via API and bypass the need to worry about IP addresses?

In short the question would be, can ebay track IP addresses via API calls?

Thank you for your help!

It has been talked about many times. Yes you can but minimum 90 day wait period

bharris007 09-24-2012 08:35 AM

What do you mean by 90 day wait period? Wait 90 until listing anything on that account? or just take it slow?

slim jim 09-24-2012 08:52 AM

you can not use 3rd party listing software without waiting 90 days on new accounts

makaveliagain 09-25-2012 02:59 AM

Been using Auctiva for years to list items. Go to Public PC once or twice a week to print PDF labels to ship. The 90 day waiting period is new to me.

Been happening for the past 3 months

Public PC? And you've never been linked?

they are probably printing labels through the 3rd party software which takes away the chance of linking

At the local college, I am still young enough to fit in. I go to the library and I save the shipping labels as PDF then print them at home. I use to use Dial Up to go onto the account on an old laptop but with java and other things on webpages it takes forever and things don't always load so I had to scarp that. Never been linked. If you follow stealth religious you shouldn't ever have a problem getting linked.

My friend recently gave me a old Iphone so I added all the gmail (blocks ip see other threads) addresses and now learning from this board I use I use the Wireless connection in my house to keep tabs on the emails so I can see if I have anything going on in the accounts, sales, customer problems etc.

But you're using the same computer for multiple accounts, therefore linking your accounts. Same IP addresses = Linked. It will be a matter of time before you get that DREDFUL email from eBay on all of your accounts.

Nope, since it is a college there are thousands of kids there. As long as when you are done working on one account you go to the other. Had these accounts since 2008. I know what I am doing. :typing:

Also eBay hardly links Users by IP Adress anymore. It is harder to prove it is the same user. Most accounts go down because people don't clear their cookies and they have no clue what Flash Cookies are.

I think you need to read stealth again and get some experience. You live and you learn. I had accounts shut down all the time for years. Every account I have had since 2008 I have not had a problem.
Public severs are not a problem but you do have to be careful. Always shut down a computer and restart it before logging into and eBay. Most public pcs automatically delete cookies and browsing history each time.
If you use a city Library or something and run multiple accounts you are crazy I will admit that. If you have use a university computer and shut down and go to another one for every account you shouldn't have a problem.

Thousands of kids go to these places and come from all over. Likely you need an active phone number because you may have to verify before you can list if you don't have a history. My personal experience I think VPN is the best way to go. But if you don't want to go the route I use University PCs for a few accounts. I have one friend who runs 6 stealth accounts from there. Never had a problem since 2007-2008.

If you printed your labels through Auctiva, you wouldn't need to go to another PC. Just switch accounts, within Auctiva, and keep working from the same pc.

News to me on waiting 3 months to add auctiva. I always add it near the end of the first month and never had a mc999..All my mc999's are typically the first day of listing the initial house item for the first quick feedback. If that listing makes it, i just wait., If it doesn't. i start over. I want to hate e... but without e... i'd be punching a time clock

This is not true, I have used inkfrog before under 90 days, I have registered the account in inkfrog immediately after registering the ebay account.

I guess they mean this is something new that needs to be done.

So we should age the accounts 90 days before linking them to inkfrog? This hasnt really given me any problems so far? 80-90% of my accounts havent had any issues after adding them to inkfrog immediately after setting up a sellers account.

Ebay does not allow 3rd party auction listing for a few months already

This must be something new, the latest batch of accounts I made late last year (somewhere around Sept- Nov probably) I was able to immediately link the account to inkfrog.
