Account Locked !! Did this happen to anyone?
 

just logged onto my first ever created ebay account which was sometime in 2001, i logged into this account about 7-8months ago after i found it incidently.. now when now i wanted to use it as a buyer account i got this message.. is this happening to anyone? i hope the pic is uploaded fine as it is first time i m uploading anything..

Hmm, seems eBay is starting to inactive old accounts for confirmation.

yes i do have e-printed copy stored for accounts :) i know i will get it reininsted sometime later.. infact that account was registered outside UK so when i m on vacations again ill get it reopen than.. but my point to starting this tread was.. lying/dormant accounts which we were thinking are safe could be in a big trouble as ebay will lock them all up for not being used.. and getting them reinstated will be a mess as most of the info on those accounts is ⊗⊗⊗⊗.. and lastly creating new accounts on ebay is a pain due to phone verification problem.. i think bad days are coming for suspended members to sustain but we shall PREVAIL

The question is, for how long have you not logged into this account?

IJM, are you asking because of a concern that ebay might give troubles if/when such accounts are re-activated?

Just wondering really what the time trigger is. I log into all my accounts weekly, but I'm wondering if they make you re-activate it if you haven't logged in for 1 month? 3 months? 6 months?

That is what I hoped you would say. I had an old account not touched for 4 months which
I logged into with no such notice. (OZ account).

I guess you could just list a bogus item through Auctiva every 2 weeks that says "RHSHDJSHD" in the title and in a category where nobody will look. Keeps the account 'active' and at minimal fees. I wouldn't mind paying 10 cents every 2 weeks per account :D

this account was created in 2001, untouched untill 2007 when i found it and got properly activated then i logged in back yesterday to find this message all my other accounts are fine but this one got this message.

My guess is that they lock accounts after 1 year. I can't imagine they would lock accounts after 1-2 months.

I created an account in 1999, defaulted on it, haven't used it since. Now I'm using it again to sell. No problem.
