Default Keep selling the same cheap things.

Hi Folks,

I want to know if it is ok to sell many of the same cheap things (Between $1 - $2) on fairly new accounts (2 - 4 months old)?

My concerns are:
1. Get into trouble with eBay's Feedback Manipulation

2. PayPal asking for documents & invoices because so many same things were sold

Please give me some tips and suggestions.

Thanks!

it can work as long as they are not risky items. always make sure to add tracking. try to switch it up every now and then

I'm doing the same on accounts that are under 30 days. I think you should be fine like I am, as long as they're not branded or anything

No, they are not branded and definitely not counterfeits.

@slim_jim, the item I sell for cheap at $1 - $2 are shipping included. Thus, I use the basic shipping which has no tracking ability. As to add a tracking will cost an extra $3.50.

Would phone & laptop accessories be considered as risky items? eg, cases, screen protectors, cables, stickers & etc.

I think you should be just fine to list as many as you like even on brand new account. Most importantly it must be low priced items and not branded. And please ADD TRAKCING NUMbER! if you dont and someone opens case - item not received , after about 4 such cases your new paypal will probably get limited.

So if I don't have tracking, and as long as there is no cases open for such goods, I should be fine?

Here are the policies and they do enforce them. I painfully learned the hard way and lost 6 accounts in the process.
Most of the time you can get away with it for a while but will eventually catch up with you.
PM me for more info and I will help.
Last thing you want to do is violate them and flag yourself

Its also how you deal with you buyer, I sell low priced items on new accounts and have had messages from buyers as not received or not as described.

I try to be polite and offer them a refund or a replacement and it has worked....No complaints and also EB have increased my limits so you don't have to add tracking numbers....

You 100% do not need to add tracking numbers to keep accounts alive.

I never have and my accounts stay alive but maybe it is best to do if you want TRS accounts!?

Not true at all.

I've sold 136 items on my legit account last year and did not use a trackable method more than 10 times. And even when I did, I never bothered to add it to eBay. I messaged it to the buyer instead.

Also, tracking on Lettermail here costs $9 domestically and $15 to USA. The items I'm selling for feedback are $2-4. There's no way I could use tracking and take nearly a $10 loss on each item

Yes, it is impossible to add tracking for each cheap items I'm selling. Don't want to lose 5 bucks for each item I sell.

My majority of the sells on the account are for more expansive items $100 - $500 each, and all of those items I have been ship fast and upload tracking. So it's more of a half & half now. Hope this won't ring any bell with EB or PP

Only time will tell - ship fast, add tracking, make people happy - should be ok.

I have honestly never added 1 tracking into ebay.

Say i am selling an item for £10 margins are low as you can imagine. The margins become way smaller if sent via recorded.

Sometimes regular post is a must!?

Why would I pay $14 for tracking on a $2-4 item!? I'd lose $9 for each one!

Makes no sense at all. I don't think it's as important to eBay as some of you people think. It's not really lucky...lots of people here seem to get by just fine.

Sorry guys, but Im with slim Jim on this one.

You have more leeway because you're in other countries. Thus shipping is longer and more expensive. For smaller items, it might not be worth it to add tracking, thus EB/PP does not care.

For here in the states, they have more demands.

You are trying to become a BUSINESS. All you need is one customer complaining or being an outright jerk about how they did not get their item and paypal takes a closer look at you, Which you are trying to AVOID.

The point is to cover yourself at every turn. if the item is .01 or $10,000, ADD TRACKING.

When it comes down to it, tracking is an important factor in keeping an account alive.
