Policy Compliance or Best Match Rigged ?

Despite being a power seller with high dsr's and offering ask the things ebay alleges improve search standing all of my items are on the back page of search. The only possible issue might be a medium policy compliance rating from a pair of jeans that were pulled for copy write violation. When customer service didnt resolve the issue I did a test by opening a new account, listing a couple of identical items offering returns, one day handling or shipping -making the total price higher than my original listings. The items listed with the new account made it near the top of best match.
So I'm wondering whether this is a compliance issue - do they penalize something so minor by by listing you last or are we being scammed by best match -is it really set up to favor new accounts and draw new sellers in? There was also talk of some sort of a glitch in the system with the new algorithm effecting best match. Any thoughts?

Clarification: the new account items listed DIDN'T offer returns, one day handling or free shipping unlike the original listings, I did that to test the system.

Same here

Same thing happened to me. I had a policy violation 2 weeks ago. my search standing is above standard and my dsr's are all above 4.97 and I even over free shipping and one day handing on items. They all are last in best match search results. Was there ever any resolution?

Accounts with policy violations will have their listings dropped down the search results for up to 6 months from when the violation happened.

yes they affect where you will show in search results

I have contacted ebay 3 times and nobody was able to tell me that the policy violation was the cause of the poor search ranking.

well i doubt they'd tell you.

i got smacked fro something silly I didn't even know was wrong 3 months ago.. and said it will expire in apr, I didn't feel anything for about 30 days or so which then stuff went into funky town.

im hunkering down and fighting hard..... im surviving.......

PS... TRS...1 day handling.... etc etc

Even if you a Power Seller/Top Rated seller. If you don't offer returns they will drop you down in the search listings a bit. No matter how good you DSRs. Kinda sucks but eBay really wants sellers to do 14 days returns.
