EBAY SELLERS: How do you guys ship iPhones internationally??
 

My question is to the USA sellers who sell iPhones or any other phones who ship internationally. What shipping company do you guys use that provide insurance and also Proof of Delivery (a SIGNATURE) to comply with Paypal Seller Protection policy on $250+ items.

I'm planning on selling an iPhone now and have avoided shipping internationally because it seems like a hassle. However, it seems like a lot of established sellers on ebay ship internationally with no problems. From my research, it seems like only USPS International Express is used because it's the only one that can provide Proof of Signature and Insurance. However, USPS International has BANNED shipping batteries and cell phones.

This would mean the Insurance will be voided. So how are you guys shipping phones still?

Most insurance companies will not insure cell phones. You have to read their restriction list

They take chances and some get big headaches! I do thought believe the number of good people still outweigh the bad and still makes it worth it. I ship items up to $100, sometimes more international first class and 99% of the time its ok. Once in a while I get someone who says they didnt get it and I reship with tracking the second go round. However there are so many sellers unwilling to do this that I get most of that market share.

It doesnt matter what you do, you can still lose a case. Keep away from selling any apple stuff internationally... but I would think UPS/FEDEX would be your best bet

Avoid shipping is the best method.

Block international buyers.

Just yesterday i shipped a few iphones to europe

I mention in my description that the buyer must have min. of 15 positive feedback for bidding on my items and blocking buyers who has less than 15 feedback....

Hi, I have been successful with ups. They have an expedited, and a super saver express international.
You can fill in all the customs forms, invoices 3 copies, etc right at the website.
At first,may seem a little overwhelming, you need the tariff code, harmonized code,etc.
Once you master it, they file the necessary forms, I have found that by using ups, I can get goods in and out of areas that are sometimes even considered risky. It may cost a little more until you get some volume going, but all of the pad pals are free, the rolls of labels,tape, bubble, and even the extra sturdy 10 kg and 25 kg boxes are free. Hint: you've gotta call to get more supplies tha what the system will allow you to order. I always tell them I have a big sale coming up,
I get normally, 20 cases of 100, pad packs,
50 pks of 2' 25 and 10 kg boxes,
And 5 cases of 500 label holders.
I have seen that some overseas buyers will pay more for certain goods.
I have shipped paintings, iPhones, iPads, laptops, etc. for some reason, it is not uncommon to get 15-30percent higher bids if you are willin to ship. That more than covers the cost of shipping. Plus, claims are easy. I used to own a ups packaging store, and I pretty much know all the ins and outs, ups is better paying claims than FedEx,for me.
Also, I never,ever give them a reason to deny the claim, I use 1-2 rolls of tape per package,plenty of bubble wrap, and I always put a box inside anothe box, so the goods are packaged in air,all the way around. Believe me, they will try to deny a claim, but if it's packaged right, no problems.
Oh, and the (fragile labels).. Mo sense using them, first they are expensive, and a ups driver told me once, when they see them and they are having a bad day, they give that fragile sticker a quick boot with their boots!!

Which companies don't cover cell phones? Ship saver doesn't but my research shipcover and upip do.

If you wish to ship internationally - and assume the headaches and potential risk involved - best shipping would be UPS or Fedex - get buyer to pay insurance, shipping, etc....or gamble.

It's always tough.
