Is there anyway to change this?

OR

Do I need to just keep going and getting as much feedback as possible?

Selling smaller items and leading upto the bigger/pricier ones?

I think you have answered your own question.

Build up the feedback and the hold will eventually be lifted. I think a lot depends on what you are selling and in which category.

So you were finally successful in getting past the first payment hurdle... I told you that you would get there. It can only get better from here on out.

Yes, just build up a good reputation on eBay and you should see the holds come off fairly soon... and they will automatically go by 90 days after your first sale anyway. But once that happens you still aren't out of the woods yet... you have to keep up the good work and then hopefully the holds will stay away from you permanently.
