BestMatch is a joke.

There you have it, yep ...the BestMatch feature is a joke. Officially. I listed the same product, down to even the same HTML and same description, same price and same shipping fees on 2 accounts yesterday for a test. Both of them as BIN. One account has 80+ feedback, the other only 17. The 80+ feedback account also has a DSR of 4.9, 4.8, 4.5, 4.5 while the 17 feedback account has 4.9, 4.5, 4.4, 4.3. The 80+ feedback account has 100% positives, the 17 feedback account has 2 neutrals and 19 positives.

So overall, the 80+ feedback account beats the other one in every category. The listings were posted within 5 minutes of eachother. Guess what? The 17 feedback account is ranked number 2 in the BestMatch, while the 100% feedback account with much more feedback, all positive and way better DSR is listed on page 2.

Were the auction titles the same? did you search with the same phrase each time?

I saw a thing where there are certain words and numbers to add to your title to increase ranking in best match. ( example add 5, new in box, etc..)
