My first scam buyer

Never again will I list something like this:

....'BUY IT NOW GETS THE GENUINE DELL CARRY CASE ADDED IN!'

buyer placed one bid and won 5 minutes later. buyer did not 'buy it now'. buyer has been on ebay since 2005.

buyer requested bag be sent. i explained it was only with 'buy it now' (repeatedly)

feedback recieved after she figured out i was not goingto send something she did not pay for:

'No carrying case for laptop as indicated and computer is slower than expected'

Lies. She said its slow because she didnt get the bag and 'feels' she should have.

Called ebay and they said since she didnt come right out and say she was going to leave negative feedback if she didnt get the bag its not feedback extortion but it IS 'demanding additional items or services not included in the purchase price.'

Never again will i list something as 'buy it now gets XXXXX'

well as a buyer i think it can be misleading the way you wrote it. if you read it quick it reads as 'buy it now and get so and so'. you have to play the game. you should have realized the person would be a problem when they requested and bag and JUST SENT IT. now you have a negative feedback and a bag worth not much. just learn and move on

AmazonStealth 11-30-2012 11:00 PM

Not misleading for someone who has been on ebay since 2005.

Oh you'll be surprised... there's no cure for stupidity no matter if you have been a member since 2012 or 1900

This is one of those that a buyer is probably going to win. Even though the title says what it says, your going to end up doing it just to not deal with it.

Would your world have fallen down if you sent the bag on a winning bid?

I doubt it.

When there is a next time, grit your teeth and send it. Part of business.

I make it a rule of thumb for under a certain amount, they can have their delusions meet.

I never forget them ;)

she didnt buy it now, thats the point.

yes thats correct it reads 'buy it now gets xxxx' and she placed a BID. whats misleading?? you do know the difference between an outright purchase (buy it now) and an auction right?...she did not 'buy it now. sorry but, you are as confused as she is.

I went $10 into the hole on the item as it is. A reply to the negative was left saying 'bag was included in BIN and you didnt BIN'. As a potential buyer when i see things like this i have no reservations about buying from the seller, the buyer is clearly wanting a free item and left negative because she didnt get it.

Anyone can be mislead or confused...I don't think being on eBay since 2005 means anything.

As for Jason - did they leave negative feedback already? Well if they did, message them and ask why, and maybe she'll say something like it was because she didn't get the bag. Then you can show that to eBay, and see if they'll remove the negative.

PS - The buyer did not try to scam you at all.

By your own admission, she placed a BID which you said she won.

You hinted the bid was a winning bid.

Yet you are creating an uproar.

Talk about pedantic.

Sorry I accepted your winning bid but because I am this mighty seller I aint giving you a $10 bag because you disregarded my instructions?

Does that have a remote sounding of being reasonable?

btw, I do not disagree the buyer was a turd & will likely always be a turd.
Balance the facts though.... you claim she won a bid. She ended up costing you far more.

One negative feedback isnt so bad to deal with - suck it up and move on. GB's comments about the free bag do have some truth in them but in your defence, you made your decision not to sent it out. All the best.

hackteck 12-01-2012 07:43 AM

just send the bag to him/her ask politely for them to remove the negative if you want the negative removed otherwise move on

I actually like having a few negatives... I see them as "battle scars" lol.

With all the protections in place for the scamming buyers a few negatives no longer impacts your sales a great deal. They will cause you to lose selling discounts and lower your limits with Ebay though.

TGMT² 12-01-2012 03:57 PM

Personally I have absolutely NO sympathy for the OP.

Since Sept. 10 2012 (last 80 days) the OP has dished out 13 Negatives or Neutrals to sellers on eBay.

Plus 8 more prior to that starting in the latter part of 2011.

Wow i just searched the listing, checked feedback, and I noticed this too. Although in all fairness we don't know the story behind each one, leaving that many negatives in that amount of time is really bad
